I was picking up my wife and she wanted to put something in the trunk... so (with the car running) I tried to open the hatch with the remote, but it wouldn't pop....what give ?
Does you hatch pop with the remote when the car is running ?

I never popped the trunk with the remote until accidently the other day.. I try it tomorrow... too many remotes to find to get out to the garage tonight
(i can't get to the garage without going outside, or I'd try it now).

no you cant, either have to turn the car off, or use the button under the hatch to open it from the outside.(you do know theres a button above the liscense plate right?)

I will take you word for it; but it is rather strange ! A safety feature of some kind ? Doesn't make much sense.
I guess, keep you from accidently popping the trunk while in motion? cause that happens so often....
haha, donno, but thats what Ive found. not sure about details, if acc is on, will it work? what if its running but you use another FOB, Id imagine in that case it wouldnt care and still wouldnt work.
but as long as the car is running, that FOB wont open the trunk.

I also noticed it doesn't work w/the factory remote......
.....however you can open the hatch with the car on because it works with my aftermarket remote.
