One of the shops we deal with in Japan forwarded me the info on this new ZMaster Series being run in Japan starting Summer 2007. They know we've got a couple of Z's in house, and are always giving me new info on trends, parts, etc from Japan. This is a one make series being done by a few of the better know shops/performance manufacturers in Japan and is focued around the 350Z. The whole thing was borne out of the Z Challenges that some of you guys have seen footage of on JDM Option, etc from 2006.

Firms like C West, NISMO, HKS, Tomei are all involved and many more to come

The first event will be June at Tsukuba (June 12)

Cars will be broken down by class (they did not give me many details on this) with both the "new" 07's and 03-06 running side by side, which is cool I think

I did get a copy of the provisional rules too (translated from Japanese)

1. Roll bar

Domestic competition vehicle installing the volt/bolt stop type roll bar of 6 point types or more which parallel to rule is recommended strongly.

Welding type it prohibits installing the roll bar.

2. Restriction of body processing

Below-mentioned body processing other than item prohibits everything.

(1) as for the flange of wheel arch inside designating that contact with the tire is avoided as purpose to bending is permitted. In case of the plastic, minimum to excise the part of that it is possible.

(2) the roll bar, minimum requirement body processing for the fire extinguisher and seat belt installation is permitted.

(3) rear wing mounting hole processing to the rear gate is permitted.

3. Left and right door

Production use the item with non processing.

Aero door mounting hole processing of the mirror is permitted.

4. Lining

Lining uses the genuine products.

5. Lights

All the lights (headlamp/the rear position lamp/the brake lamp/the direction indicator lamp/the wiper) you must operate normally.

Headlamp and the rear position lamp make appearance the production item equal, freedom do the illuminant and the like which is used.

6. Aero part

All aero parts at while stipulation below the thing which is produced and in addition must be installed firmly.

Floor panel
From the front axis it is possible from the front and the rear axis to install in the rear. However, both front and back making parallel on outermost side of the aero bumper. Flat the surface does not have to be installed between the front axis and the rear axis.

Door mirror
When the aero door mirror is installed, you must be installed effectively to the both sides of the vehicle. And, you have had to have possessed the reflected area of lowest 90c ‡u.

Canard
It makes inside the range to outside the body, you do not have to exceed the range in the reference drawing. And, you must install firmly. And, the corner section acquires roundness and does not become sharp. When there is guidance from Z-MASTER, roundness must be modified rapidly.

Rear wing
Width makes below 1485mm. Height makes within 320mm from the back door bottom. (Reference drawing thing of reference)

Bonnet
Directly the engine compartment does not have to be visible from the air scoop or louver directly above. When it is visible, the foreign material that tries does not enter with the net. Case the louver is installed and, the air scoop, you must designate as within height 40mm. It limits the open part to those which designate heat dissipation as purpose.



4th provision chassis

• It prohibits processing the suspension member.

• Link, the arms use the NISSAN genuine part with non processing.

It recognizes the replacement to the strengthening bush. Pyro ball conversion is not recognized.

However, in regard to front upper link, it is not this limit.

• It prohibits the modification of suspension layout.

5th provision brake

1. It prohibits the carbon fiber make brake rotor. And, brake rotor diameter makes up to maximum Φ 355.

2. The caliper - the piston makes to 6 pods.

6th provision fire extinguishing appliance fire extinguisher system

As for all vehicles it can require the fact that the manual digestion device is equipped. It prohibits the automatic fire extinguishing system.

When newer product than each manufacturer is sold, Z. M. Is added to the active tire with the judgement of A.

• Tire size both front and back makes up to extreme breadth 265.

• Complete wheel (tire and wheel) protruding

The upper part must be covered effectively from center of the complete wheel by wheel arch.

10th provision lowest weight limitation

• You do not have to be less than lowest weight. Lowest weight driver weight (equipment 込) is included.

• This weight in starting running possible state, various lube, fills up the chilled water, the fuel and the driver (equipment 込) is included. In the conference you do not have to be less than lowest weight at the time of any.

• You do not question the gasoline quantity when weighing

• When stipulated weight is fallen short of, it becomes being disqualified.

11th provision engine

• The engine type which is identical with the production car must be used, (the VQ35DE/HR engine)

• It prohibits installing the supercharger.

• ナイトロオキサイド (nitrous oxide) and the like the fact that use and that device are loaded is prohibited.

• It prohibits the modification of position of the engine mount.

• The maximum aerodynamic volume displacement makes as follows.

Stipulated aerodynamic volume displacement (at the time of the NISSAN genuine 0.20/S piston use)

• Throttle

RS1 and RS2 class: Use the NISSAN genuine part.

Non only 1 use is permitted with processing.

HR engine the car recognizes 2 one for HR engines, but it does not recognize modification.

RS3 class: The genuine part for Z33 does not have to be replaced.

• Intake collector: Use the genuine part for Z33.

RS1 class and RS2 class

Intake processing inside the collector is permitted.

Throttle processing the minimum for installation is permitted. (Other than HR engine car)

RS3 class

Use the genuine part for Z33 with non processing.

• Only RS3 class application

The cam, the valve, the combustion chamber, modifying and processing the part which relates, to engine itself such as piston, connecting rod and crank are prohibited. However, modification block processing to the genuine OS piston which accompanies OH is recognized.

12th provision oil catch tank

All the vehicle must use the oil catch tank.

Motor oil catch the tank must be installed firmly.

Z33 genuine fuel use the tank.

Safe fuel it prohibits the use of the tank.

14th provision exhaust type

1. The silencer is provided for the rear part and at the same time it must be rear exhaust type. And, the exhaust discharging is permitted from only end of exhaust type. It is not permitted that the chassis part is used for exhaust discharge.

2. The catalyser - installing is required.

RS1 class and RS2 class

The exhaust system if the below-mentioned approved catalyser of both banks - it is not connected, the catalyser - always function does and exhaust everything of the respective bank, must pass there. As for the approved part there are times when it is added and is deleted. In that case, at on the home page it notifies.

RS3 class

UA - Only Z33 the catalyser outside the below-mentioned approved genuine - to exchange is permitted.

UA - The genuine catalyser - you do not have to exchange the vehicle after Z33.

3. Exhaust volume

Exhaust volume because stipulation differs in each circuit, adjusts to the standard of that circuit.

Tsukuba circuit Number attaching: 103 db or less/number nothing: 120 db or less
EBISU circuit 120 db or less

Measuring method

The microphone for measurement maintains horizontally with the same height and as the air exit directs to the air exit.

It makes inside the range of angle of 45 degree ± 10 degrees vis-a-vis the axis which is regarded the center of the flow of the exhaust.

15th provision tow hook
