Here are some pictures from tonight's kick off parade for the Gumball Rally 3000. Didn't get a picture of the man, but Mayor Willie Brown (I think that's the mayor of SF) was there! Come to think of it, I think he is in the background on one of those pictures, as well as Pro Skater Tony Hawk...

 

So you actually went, eh? Looks like fun- wish I could have made it up there. Highway Patrol is probably extremely busy between here and Vegas tonight.

Yeah, got to the fairmont in downtown at about 7. The sight is pretty amazing... the collection of cars has to be worth at least couple million dollar....the abundance of lambos and ferraris make the porsche gt2s look like nothing... I belive the leading car was a f-50... didn't get a good picture though...
Most participants were in the 20-30s.... and lots of right handed cars too...
Too bad no 350Z representing....

It is one of my dreams to do the Gumball Rally run. I was just talking about it with a friend today and we're gonna try to win the lotto so we can go next year.

 

Even if you could get someone to pony up the $12K for the entry fee, you'd need another $12K to pay your speeding tickets and bail money. That being said I'd do it in a second. If you haven't seen the documenary of last years run let me know and I'll let you borrow my copy next time we meet up. Looks like an absolute blast.

What car is the 14/15/16 pics?? Looks like lambo wheels with Tuscan Rear lights? Can't be a lambo, doors opening is different.. Anyone know?

I was able to make it out there as well. It was quite an amazing site to see such a collection together and everyone all excited for the start. Cool to see Murcies and Modenas do burn-outs too... As far as celebs...I was able to point out skaters Bucky Lasek in the Jag, Tony Hawk in the Viper and Jesse James in the supercharged VW bus. Didn't see any Zs repped in the Rally other than a damaged Z32 leaching in the parade. Highlights mos def were the Murcies, Modenas and the Koenigsegg which had turbos the size of vinyl LPs. Ahhhh...I wish I won the lottery too.

 

Well, somebody here SAID their application was accepted. They never said they were actually doing it.
