Maybe this says something about the maturity of drivers, seeing as how the G is more expensive? Probably impossible to tell, but that's still very impressive scores for the G.

This should be a banner at every Nissan dealership:
Other sportcars would have definitely made that list if they sold more.
I think the Z is fairly safe. We just have more knuckleheads on the road trying stupid **** behind the wheels.
Go ahead parents, buy your newly liscensed teen a 350z!
"Small sporty cars had among the highest death rates, which IIHS attributes to risk-taking drivers and the size of the vehicles."

If only peolple respected their cars and did not treat them like they are toys, we prob. would not see as many deadly accidents that we see. Yet another good reason for a 16 year old not to be behind the wheel of a sports car that was bought by Mom and Dad.

I feel that this website being popular with 350z enthusiasts should have a sticky thread, with this chart linked permanently, so people know exactly what they are getting into.

In order to be valid, this study needs to incorporate variables such as the driver's state of mind (such as intoxicated). It would also require a breakdown of age to have any validity at all. Furthermore, just a list of fatalities alone is meaningless. It does not even break it down by velocity (speed), road conditions, or any other extraneous variable such as age, gender (of the driver) or any other demographic.
For the most part, this is useless for extracting any real or valid observations about the car, and is extremely unscientific. On the other hand, it is an interesting post with some useful observations and a well-needed warning for us Type A's and "adrenalin junkies."
If this "study" indicates anything at all, it is that the average Z owner drives more "enthusiastically" and is more likely to take chances. Life on the edge has its consequences.
Gotta keep my foot right down;
If I had wings I'd leave the ground.
Buning in the outside lane,
People think that I'm insane!
The day I take a bend too fast,
Judgement that could be my last!
I'll be wiped right off the slate;
Don't wait up 'cause I'll be late!

This operational definition completely ignores miles driven or the demographic of the driver or what kinda crazy stuff the driver was pulling when he/she off'd themselves.
To be valid, the study would at least have to eliminate deaths from coked-up teenagers who wrapped their Z around a tree doing 130 mph on a surface street while looking for the joint they dropped while getting a hand-job.

My crude estimate:
90,000 = 350Z sold
193 = Dead
193/90,000 = .0214 * 1,000 = 2.1

I'm not surprised. I see kids everywhere driving 350z's and RSX's.
If Porsche 911 were sold in the $30k range, then the 911 would be on top of the list with 5000 deaths per year.
