Well i guess its time...Help Required
Hey all, i guess its time to part out my Z. Sad day, but this is the conclusion i have came too, as its financially not possible anymore. Ive spent alot of money on this car, and am fully aware that im not going to get any back. But i would like some input on how i should go about selling this car.
Its a black, 03, Authentic Nismo Rims, Full JL Stereo, Carbon Fiber Hood. With an APS TT Kit, which is what im having problems with, and it needs to be tuned and some valve replaced "or so im told", which would be an expensive labour bill. So its going into the shop on Monday to get this fixed. Now after its fixed i want to know how i should sell it. I could get them to take the turbo kit off next week and sell that individually, along with the stereo. I know im not going to get anywhere near what i payed for these but do you guys think I'll get more that way then selling it as is. I could also sell it currently as is, and whomever bought it would have to pay the labour bill, so i would obviously sell it for less. My dad, who i go to for all my financial decisions, says i should just trade it in at a dealership and get another car with payments as there is a bank loan i took out to buy this car.
Im located in the Edmonton Alberta area, and any help as to what i should do would be greatly appriciated. Thank You in advance

Whatever original parts you have laying around, put them back on and take off as many upgrades as possible. Don't make the same mistake as me and just trade everything in.
I was too jumpy and just spent 4000 on audio upgrades on a Mazda6. Went to the dealer JUST to LOOK at Z's. Ended up trading my car and lost all the money. I had all the original stuff at home but i was just too antzy.
Especially those nismo rims...take em off and resale.

Its not a valve, its a main bearing or something like that, im not very mechanical, so i have no idea how to fix anything. thats what mechanics are for. There are personal reasons as to why im getting rid of this car aswell, im sad to do all this, but its time. So i just need some opinions on how i should go about selling this.
Thanks again

If you're not mechanically inclined and/or don't have the OEM parts to put back on the car, then try to sell it "as-is". Expect to take a beating though as you'll never get a good return on all the aftermarket parts.
If you can get the OEM parts swapped back onto the car, then by all means do that. You'll be able to sell the car for what it's worth then sell the turbo and other aftermarket parts for part of what they cost you.
If you have the time, search through the Marketplace->Private Classifieds forums for the parts that you think you'll be able to sell. That will give you an idea of what to ask and what to expect.
I doubt anybody here would be able to look at your car and a list of parts and be able to give you an accurate answer of what it's worth. There are a lot of "ifs" built into this dilemma.
Good luck.

I got alvin automotive in Calgary to put in my turbo kit, so i am taking the car back to them on monday, and either telling them to fix it and give it back, or take the turbo kit out and ill sell everything seperate. I have most of the OEM parts, so it shouldnt be too bad. And i think ill get a better dollar if i part it out. Unless someone wants to buy it as is after its fixed...then im definitly parting out.
Are you sure you're not just trying to get an easy way out of it by just rushing to sell? Sure, we all have financial issues from time to time, and I am not trying to prod into your business ... but make sure this is REALLY the decision you want to make.
No offense, but to me it just seems like you're freaked out about the problem with your TT kit and just want to rid of the car so suddenly and start anew because of a modding conflict\problem.
Just make sure you're really serious about this.
And everyone is correct-- you'll really have variable prices on how many parts are on the car at the time. Just part it out and put all OEM pieces back in.
Good luck.

Yah im confident this is the decision i want to make, ive thought about it for a while, and if i keep the Z, im going to find away to keep throwing money into it, money thats better used in other places. So, im cutting my losses, and movin on. It sucks, but i feel its right.
