Has anyone polished their mags?

I wanted chromed alloys but there does'nt seem to be a lot available or what is there is the wrong design etc so I decided an option is to get the existing wheels polished - I get the look I want plus keep the same rims & tyres.

Has anyone done this and how good did it come out?
