I think they mean the base price of the Track model, but they should have stated the base price of the Base Model instead. Got I hate Motortrend they're a bunch of Nissan hatin' ******. Who drove the damn car when they were measuring 0-60, the editor's grandmother??

Well, this is about the 4th or 5th magazine (including the british mags) that has quoted a time of around 5.5 secs to 60 or 62mph so far. I think it's safe to assume that this is what the car can reasonably do...they didn't build the car, they're just driving it. Maybe after its broken in it will be a bit quicker.

This is well into the range of what Nissan promised (under 6 secs)...i still don't understand why everyone is angry...i guess there was too much speculation, and too many overly optimistic buyers.

Not really upset. In fact I am very Happy, but Nissan did also say the fastest Z ever. They didn't quite deliver on that IMO.

I want to know what is so damn controversial about the look of the new Z. I dont really know anyone who doesn't like the way it looks.

Among other things there could be slight differences in the power since it's rare for two engines off the assembly line to have the exact same output. Motortrend tested a Touring and C&D tested a Track. Lastly, the amount of clutch abuse each had been previously exposed to could have been different. So even if both drivers used the exact same technique, I would have expected different times.

Any Knows the archives site for motortrend, caranddriver and Roadandtrack for I can compare the 300zxtt to the 350z. Also how can nissan claim the 350z to be the fastest Z ever without putting there own numbers out as a benchmark.(what's up with that)

I think for those that would like to know the faster 0-60 time...you have to wait for the SCC (sport compact car magazine)
They have a "drive it like you steal it" time from 0-60.

Default Verification

Can anyone that has read the Motor Trend Issue verify which model was tested? From the base price it sounds like a Touring with 6sp, but they may have erred.

I just got the issue today. It has the leather seats and does not have either the Rays or the Brembos so I assume it's the Touring model.

Oh, great! Another mag that trumpets, look what you can get for $27,000 on the cover, and tests a more expensive model. I hope to read the article when my MT arrives, but its annoying to see another mag w/b.s. on the cover.

Waiting for the R&T issue, they are usually more objective. It is good to hear the 0-60, etc. are real close in all the reviews. No "qualifying" cars for Nissan, just good product. Meets my expectations.

As I have said before motortrend is the biggest Nissan hater, WTF kind of cover is that half the front end is cut off. They just took one of those pictures Nissan released and smacked it on the cover, my dog could have designed a better cover. I'm cancelling my subscription when I get the 12th issue.

Default Definitely agreed...

The cover sucks...looks very simple. There are more glamour shots they can use to show the beauty of the Z. Maybe they should put the 0-60times or something to get the readers attention..
