Default Question about terms

Sorry to sound uneducated in your terms but I was wondering what
1) Blip the throttle
2) Double clutch
mean.

What does it mean.. and how do you do it

Blipping the throttle is just a quick press of the gas pedal to get the revs up for rev-matching.

Double clutching is when you clutch in, shift to neutral, clutch out, clutch back in, shift into next gear, clutch out. It used to be required on older cars, but not on newer cars thanks to the invention of synchros.

1] Blip the throttle. That's when you're in neutral or depressing the clutch and you tap the gas to kick the tach/RPM up.
2] Double Clutch. Used before synchros were made but still can be useful for a smooth downshift.... (like a drop from 6th to 3rd). What you do is this...
A) release the clutch and go to neutral
B) engage the clutch, blip the throttle in neutral
C) release the clutch and go into gear
D) engage the clutch.
Or at least that's how I've learned to do it.

[edit] Doh, kaiser23 beat me.
