Found a 05 Yellow Z, but something seems fishy...

Heh. I know a friend who works at Nissan. Ran a carfax, nothing was wrong with it, but that doesnt mean nothing happened to it. His manager said it was too good to be true, but theres no way to know for sure until I check it out.

Yeah, get the manager and head mechanic sign off on it.
+1 on being an Enthusiast.
Hell of a deal if they car is in okay shape -- find out if the tranny has been replaced too.

It's at Infiniti... so they probably don't care about used cars that aren't Infinitis. Some dealerships try to get rid of other names. And yes, I know Nissan and Infiniti are basically the same. I'm just making up a reason why it might be cheaper.

I disagree with this statement and everybody who has said brand name has something to do with the discount. Car dealerships are not stupid. They know exactly the value of every car they have on their lot. If it's a popular car they can sell then it's going to be on the lot like any other car in their stock. If not then they would have either moved the car to another dealer or took it to auction. Saying that it's not an Infiniti has something to do with the discount is just plan wrong and ignorant. (Steve-O I'm not calling you out here I know you are just coming up with a reason but your post was not the first one to say this.)

You are not listening to what I am saying. Read this post again. Never trust a dealership and their service in a situation like this when they tell you everything is fine and has been checked out. They will lie and lie some more until they get you to sign. There is a very good reason to believe that the salesman never even seen the inspection report.

If there is truly a Z for that price then you need to have it inspected by another dealership and not the Infiniti that's selling it. Reason for that is many times the mechanic will write what is wrong with the car but the saleman will intercept the report and omit certain information to the customer. Also fun a carfax. No dealership is stupid nor are they in the business of giving cars away. I've seen dealerships sell many wrecked cars and knowingly lied about it to the customer about the history of the car. Be careful and proceed with extreme caution. This could be the best deal or headache you are looking to purchase.

I live near the dealership. I also have a friend who works there, named Dimitri. That's Infiniti of Manhattan, I'm 100% certain. He posts on my forum NYCMaximas.org as "Max1mka". PM him about it.

Sorry bud but it looks way too good to be true. print out the emails saying that the car has NOT been in any accidents and that it has a clean title. Make sure it clearly says that before even thinking about this car.

If the price is like a steal, there's always something wrong!!
And, it's New York, everybody running after money, will they give you such a good deal?? I doubt, not only New York, anywhere in the world won't do that.
Bring a mechanic, have them jack the car up, take a look at the chassie.
Carfax doesn't mean anything, if they have done something to the car that haven't report to insurance or police, Carfax wouldn't show at all!!!
My mechanic once told me one of his female customer brought him a used BMW that bought from a BMW dealership, certified, once he jack up the car, there's couple soldering mark under the chassie, who will know it could happen from a used car bought from a dealership!!
So, bring your own mechanic and take a very detail check on the car!!

If it's real, it's a steal of a deal. If it's not, drop it like it's hot.
I wonder if it's title has been whitewashed. A number of dealers got in trouble for pushing flooded Katrina cars through enough legal holes that the title looks clean... Of course, Katrina ate my city, so I might be biased.
