I took my car in today for Tire feathering problem. While at the dealer I decided to go check out the 07. They had 2 Black enthusiast models on the floor. They were beautiful. The dealership was bought by new owners 2 weeks ago and they asked me if i wanted them to appraise my car and get a price on the 07 I said "**** yeeah!" Anyway to make a long story short. It would cost me my 04 Z with 19k and another $2000 to get my payments to go up another $150 per month. Sad... Oh well I am going back for a fun test drive next week when my tires come in. But it sucks i wouldve taken the car right off the floor today had they let me pay the same $400 a month i am paying now i wouldve even gone up to $450 oh well...

 

 

So you expected to drive off the lot with a new Z, yet in the process, expect the dealer to make little to nothing on the deal?

 

Oh they make so much on it that its barely legal. They even make money on the financing. Dont let them give u that invoice crap either. Take them for every single penny that u can. Even if u do give them a bad deal it will make up for the 10,000 other people that they robbed.

I used to sell cars along time ago, they would mark up the cars SEVERAL thousand even above sticker. Oh and dont pay for "Clearcoat Protectant" or Scotchguard fabric protector" Thats another classice scam. The cars would come right off the truck, get hosed off, peel off some plastic wrap and put them right on the lot with that same sticker on it saying all the stuff they didnt do.

Take them for everything they have!

Honestly u have a brand new Z already! 9K is NEW NEW NEW! Why buy almost the same Z now when the New Z will be out next year!!

 

I just don't see the point in complaining about a dealer not giving what you want on a trade in to purchase a new car. The OP basically wants the dealership to eat the depreciation on the '04.

A smart person would sell the car to a private buyer then purchase the new car.

Only reason I haven't upgraded to 2007 Z is because my payment would go from $510 to roughly $780 LOL.

 

The only reason I haven't bought a 07 is because I don't want another car payment. My 03 is doing just fine sitting there all paid off. Having said that it's worth a lot more to me than any trade in value I may get because it's a paid off car.

 

Do the math, you're not even close.

 

My problem is I currently owe more than it is worth. After taxes and finance charges and what I owe still on the current Z, I think I would be financing something like $38k.

 

Forget it. Start sending in double payments and it might happen next year.

 

Yea The girl in there said she would put me on a list and when they are trying to get rid of the 07s in stock in september she will call me to come in. But honestly I parked next to the 07 and really like the way mine looked better. Maybe it was the hood. But under that hood the engine is beautiful. Oh and for the unclear it wouldve been my car+$2000 to finance @ $550 a month. I would rather pay my $400 for my 04 Touring with leather I am definetly gonna buy the 07 Headlights and Tails
