So after my last roadtrip, im not taking any more chances. Does anybody know what the name is or where I can get that blue tape that people put on the front of their cars to protect them at the track and other various places...thanks!

They have this spray on bra. You spray it on the whole front of the car, then when you're done you just wash it off. I don't remember what the stuff was called though.

Ive seen this stuff before and dont get it. I can maybe understand bugs or tar. However, how is that supposed to protest agaist rocks and debri? I would just go with the bra for long trips.

Do a permanent clear bra. I'm going to have my bumper repainted soon for all of the rock chips and I am going to have my painter do several layers of clear to help protect it down the road.

3M painters tape. you can get it anywhere...walmart, autozone, wherever. It's a good, cheap temporary solution. if you don't want to spend upwards of $600 for a clear bra.

+1 for clear bra, when I bought my used touring the dealer tried to pitch me on the 6 air bags, I liked the clear bra option the best then, and now 2 years later. My windshield has taken more damage and needed replacement before getting one dent or scratch on the front bumper with the clear bra, 18K miles later.

Do you take road trips often? If so, then just get a bra from Nissan. If not, you could use the blue or green tape. Get it at autozone, walmart, o'reilly, etc. I used saran wrap when I went on long road trips to car shows and such. It's a lot faster than taping up the whole front end.

If you are going to get the bra, I'd put it in the dryer for a few to get it nice and warm.
The previous owner was nice enough to give me his, as he never put it on. Since you should not let it get wet under it, so taking it off to wash the car and putting it back on, I found that it was a real pain to get on not cold, but 60-70 degrees, thus the "warm it up next time" idea.

I'd recommend the Colgan Bra. It has been very good for road trips. I take it off around town. It takes 30sec or less to put on. It hasn't scratched my paint. I haven't had to work to get it on. It also protects against people tapping your front bumper in parking stalls. It's happened many times and no marks yet. A couple of time the person hit it pretty good and when we inspected it both the myself and the person that hit it were really happy that there wasn't a mark. They don't look too bad in my opinion and most people know they are a temporary thing so you still look cool. If you don't think it looks good that OK because I'd much rather has a beautiful and sometimes covered front end than a paint chipped one.
Clear bra is an options but, where it ends it looks like scratches to me. My wife didn't care for that either. They are also about $500 to $600 to have installed.

I really cant understand how you buy a 30k plus car, then gawk at the possibility of simply re-painting the front end after a couple years. Jesus! blue tape, saran wrap, a bra? I can see if you have a $10k candy paint job and your driving to a show 400 miles away, but lets be real folks this is not an Enzo were talking about here. Nomatter how long the road trip is.
