Check carefully on what your giving up but I think the Enthusiast has the most bang for the buck.

I agree with Rat. The Enth. seems to be the most for the least to me also. I essentially went with the Perf., though, b/c I got more for my previous car than I thought I would and I liked the Perf. wheels more and the tire pressure monitors are cool. Plus, the name "Performance" for a car just sounds better than "Enthusiast".

I went with the Performance. I'm going to upgrade my wheels anyway so I didn't want to pay for the Track wheels. And I'd rather have red StopTech brakes instead of the orange Brembos. Nor did I want leather. The Performance had all the "performance" items I wanted, and I can add the rest later.

Not to mention extra weight....

Enthusiast all the way.

Can someone elaborate on what the VDC is used for? Is that separate from the traction control or a supplement of it? I too am in a position to selling my Celica GT-S and in the Enthusiast/Performance purchasing dilemma.

I don't mind taking the 17's on the Enthusiast cause I want to buy 19's for it and the tire monitor is not really on high priority.

Any information would be helpful.

VDC = Vehicle Dynamic Control

It's Nissan's vehicle stabilization system which uses various sensors to read what's happening to the car versus what it thinks the driver is asking the car to do based on throttle position, steering angles, and probably a lot of other stuff I'm not familiar with. It uses the traction control and ABS brake technology to try to keep the car inline during aggresive maneuvering. You can look up what Nissan has to day about it on their web site at http://www.nissanusa.com.

Steve R.

I think the 17 rims look great on the car, went with the Enthusiast and can't be any more thrilled with it. The Brick is the best color IMO, make sure you see it in the sunlight before you decide on which color

base is too spartan, no cruise control did it for me, I need that.

and TCS is a good thing for a car of this caliber, as well as xenon headlight, autodimming mirror, home link, LSD, ect ect. base to enthusiast is the best deal of them all IMO.

anyway, if your gonna get new rims, enthusiast for sure. only other things performance has is tpm(400$ aftermarket, not as nicely integrated into the car, but 1.50 pressure gauge will save you some cash, and that annoying beep when a tire is 1PSI low.) and VDC, which is nice, but not worth almost 3000$ if your replacing the rest anyway.

touring and track dont appeal to me, and yeah I own a touring

I like aftermarket leather better, tho its too bad you cant add power/heated seats. and Id go aftermarket on the stereo. track, I dont want stock rims if Im going performance, I want to be different, not stock. the design just wasnt for me. brakes, nice brakes.

oh of course I liked Touring when I got it, and am still very satisfied, but you can always see clearer a few month later, all this aftermarket leather and bose turning out to be not so fantastic wasnt obvious when I bought it.

I own a Z and can not recommend buying one until Nissan develops a fix for the front suspension problem that everyone is developing.. REason they can give you a good deal on the Z is because its a dam lemon and people now know it... Ask the salesman if they will cover your tires when they show feathering from the front suspension.

I'm not having any problems. Nope. Not a lemon. Got what I paid for.

Wayne how many miles do you have on your Z?? If its over 7k miles and you have no feathering on the front tires, your car is truly rare(everyone i have talked to has it). Get back to me once you've checked, were looking for a fix for the other 30 cars that have found it. Maybe you can be of some help?
