Unhappy I Need Help Bad Guys Please!!!!! :( :( :(

okay so i am a new Z owner, and stupid of me i thoguth gas tank was on the left side like my prelude..

so i pull into gas station. and notice that my cars gas tank is on the other side.. so i try to turn my car back on and it woudn't turn on it makes a clicking sound.. so im thinking batteries dead. pay 13 bux buy jumpers and get my car jumped. it woudn't jump for awhile. untill like 4-5 minutes later. and i get it started. let it run for like 5 minutes then drive it around and put in full tank of gas. then my car wont start again...making a clicking sound like crazy - so im thinking batteries just a bad battery and went dead on me. that sux. and so then i tried jumping it with other cars. and i woudnt' turn on.. and then some guy in a fixed up g35 came along and had some crazy battery charging kit. plugged it in. and boom my car is running. i drive home and now my car wont start again!!.. making same clicking sound. i am thinking it is the battery taht is dead?

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INSIGHT? EXPERIENCE WHAT TO DO?????????

i am a new z owner and no idea whats wrong HELP ME! SUGGESTIONS?!!?

Sounds like a dead battery. BTW it's not so smart to jump a battery near the pump.

You're making this much more difficult than it really is. Take the battery to Autozone, Sears, or somewhere that does battery service. Have them check the battery out to see if it's good. If not replace it. If it happens again on the new battery then you'll know that it's something else. BTW, you can't check your alternator properly on a bad battery anyways.

Could also be a bad connection to the battery , or a bad starter. Either one will mimic a bad battery. When jumped a bad connection or started will have the extra AMPs to go thru and get the car going. Check everything out before you buy parts you dont need.

+1 When finding out electrical problems it a system deduction. Check connections. If all is good assume it's the battery. If battery is good or replaced and still happens then start looking at other components. What you described could be either a bad connection or a bad battery not able to hold the charge from the jump.

I say bad battery, sounds like it won't hold a charge. If it was the alternator the car wouldn't stay running.

Chang your battery every 1000 miles?! Man, looks like my del sol is about 30 batteries past changing time.

Take it up to autozone and have them test it. It's as simple as that. While you're there, you might ask them for blinker fluid. I hear it cures battery problems.

Actually that's not too far from the truth. There really isn't a set timeframe. Longest battery warranty is 80 months (6.6 years). Your battery could last shorter or longer than that. I don't know why you are freaking out man. Just get the battery checked/replaced first before you start to look at the alternator or starter. Once again you're going to have to do that anyways because you CAN NOT check the other components properly without a good battery.

It's okay...the Z is a nice car, but it is still just a car and follows many automotive basics. Don’t make maintenance harder than it really is.
