Power could be a lot better as well (will be with the 2008 6.2 liter engine). Also, they don't hold their value that well (in this area at least). Just my 2 cents. I'm sure I would disapprove of the 350 if I worked at a nissan dealership instead. On a good note though, I love the new headlights, the HUD on the 3lt package, and the active handling system. makes it so almost impossible even for a novice driver to completely lose control in a corner.
What dealership do you work at? Let me know so I can make sure to stay away from it.

The funny thing is, for the most part, no one knows less about cars than a car salemsan. If you want the wrong information about upcoming cars, go ask someone at a car dealership. These guys are the bottom of the food chain in the car business, like flounders grazing on the ocean floor.

The moron I bought my '07 from has been selling the C6 for three years now. I asked him a few basic questions (which I already knew the answers to) and he didn't have clue...and this guy was the dealership's "Corvette Specialist." No wonder GM is in trouble. $hit rolls downhill.

I dread taking my car to the dealership for any service work, so I found my own Corvette mechanic:

Outstanding! She work on Nissans?

I could always use a good mechanic like that.

fine...believe what you want...i know what I do, and I know the customers that buy them. I even said that the vette is a great car for the money. If you didn't negotiate when you bought your z...then you are a retard. sorry. You are going to brag about 500 under on a vette, and not negotiating on a 350? In my eyes, that tells me that the 350 is a better car since they wouldn't negotiate on it... I have sold them for 500 under, and I have also sold them for 15k over (30k over on the first z06 i sold $102,345 plus tax). As far as the person you bought the car from not knowing anything about them, either means 2 things in my oppinion. 1. he was an idiot, or 2. he put you together. We are trained to tell the customers that we don't know everything for a few different reasons. It leaves us an out to go and get help if we get stuck (a turn), it makes the customers feel important because they might know more than the person that sells them for a living. Also, if your battery doesn't die, you are lucky. No matter what, the vehicle is always searching for the key fob since you don't need any keys for the vehicle. This puts an asthetic (sp?) draw on the battery. That is why the battery dies. Unless you installed a kill switch,or something to that effect, this still takes place. Also, congratulations on your purchase of a base model corvette. is that a 1lt package, with no Z51 or magnetic? Probably had the painted wheels too. They probably showed you second sticker, then discounted down to MSRP for you, ripped your trade 4g's, signed you up at and held 3 points of financing on you, or you bought everything on the back end which has a 60% markup on it. As far as how I sell cars. Don't worry about it. I have offered to help many people on this forum purchase cars, even from other dealerships. Not every car is perfect for everyone, so I still offer to help facilitate their purchase.

When the 350Z was first announced, you could pre order it back in January of 2002 almost a year in advance of release.....which is what I did. Most scum dealers were asking 5K over sticker...just like the scum Chevy dealers are still trying to do with the Z06. I found a decent Nissan dealer in AZ who ordered it for me for $250 under sticker....not much of a real discount but still a damn good deal at the time if you wanted the new Z right away. It was a track model with NAV...sticker was $37464.00

My Vette is a 2LT....sport seats and side airbags are a must. Only additional options are the two-tone seats and the paddle shift auto (my wife will destroy the clutch once the car has 600 HP). I bought it that way specifically because I plan on modding the wheels/tires, suspension, stereo, engine and upgrading the trannie. My '06 vert was a 3LT loaded...full of worthless bells and whistles I never used. The less electronic BS to screw up while modding, the better.

I did not trade. I would NEVER trade. I sold my '06 first for almost what paid for it. I built my '07 online, had the true invoice price for them, and they ordered my car at 500 below invoice...similar to GMS pricing. It was either that, or do a courtesy delivery for an out of state dealer who had already met my price. Being the mental giants they are, they saw the wisdom of actually selling me the car themselves.

Oh...and no financing...paid cash. No extended warranty sale, no financing kickback, no nuthin.' Anything else, Einstein?

You MUST be a car salesman, You automatically assume all your little tricks to screw people are some big secret....and that revealing a few of them here make you sound smart. Guess what? YOU SELL CARS FOR A LIVING.

I'll bet she'll work on anything for the right price.

Since this is still a Z site, here's a pic of my APS TT 350Z, and the '06 Vette and 350Z together. Looking at these pics now, I do miss the Z. With the right mods, this car is truly a world class sports car. I have no doubt I'll be right back in line for the next generation.

Damn your Z is nice! Love those wheels. Did you part out before selling it?

Also you seem to have a lot of expensive cars. Is your 2005 A8 the current generation? I forget when the current generation came out (not sure if it's the 2005 or 2006 model).

Either way that is one nice sedan... must be nice to relax in with all the technology and gadgets inside.

I don't get this... I would personally want my dealer to know every damn thing there is to know about the car so I would feel comfortable buying from someone smart. The only downside to that is he could be crafty at trying to cheat me into buying unnecessary additions. Whatever the case is, I'm not sure if I'd want to reveal that information (if I were in your shoes) if it was true.

I sold the Z with all mods to a forum member in Texas. He later sold it to someone else and it was wrecked soon after. Here's a pic....ouch:

Those are iForged wheels on the Z. The new owner put Volks on.

Yes, the A8 is the new generation. 2005 was the first year. When it's running right, it really is an awesome machine (it even has seat massagers...WTF?), but it spends more time at the shop than at home. When the warranty is up, it's history. I don't think I'd ever buy another Audi...but the new mid-engined R8 does look quite impressive.

WTF. He probably sold it to some punk *** irresponsible 18-year-old who thought drifting was "da bomb yo!" Just sad when you see good things go to irresponsible people like that. Oh well his loss.

Yikes. I actually like the iForged wheels on them... much more unique, since most people slap on Volks.

Too bad about the Z, what can you do...

I'm not sure if that was the case (it may well have been), but the guy only had the car for a couple of days and from what I recall, he just lost control. Too much power, perhaps. When the boost kicked in, that car took off like it was shot out of a cannon.

APS makes a great system for the Z. If I wasn't so confident in the quality of Lingenfelter's work, I would probably add the APS C6 TT system instead. Since my car has the 6sp auto, this is the package they will be doing for me, including the trannie upgrade:

[QUOTE=Electricchild]btw after seeing this pic, black is the only way to go for me!!!

I've seen that pic before.....it's stunning! However, having owned a black Vette before, I would never do it again. It looks great when freshly waxed, but that lasts about 5 minutes. The inevitable microscopic swirls, dust, and constant cleaning drove me nuts. With silver, if you don't clean it for month it still looks like it was just waxed.

Black is the baddest and sexiest......but I'll let someone else have those bragging rights. I'd rather spend more time driving it than cleaning it.

Ah very true. I suppose you'd have to be a masochist when it comes to car cleaning to truly keep the Vette (or any car for that matter) clean.

But they make for some pretty aggressive looking stances in pictures, this was posted in a Z06 thread in the other vehicles section:

I like the performance minded company that the Z06 keeps; and the pricing is more than fair.

Wow that thing's going to be a monster. That is one hefty pricetag though, but those numbers are insane. And you'd still end up spending far less than the price of a Z06 (considering the insane dealer markup on those).
