The funniest thing about this thread is that if you go through and compile the list of mods you should never do, 99% of the cars on this site will probably have at least one of those mods.

Pretty much everything that can be done, will be disliked by somebody else. Everybody does mods because THEY like them, not because everybody else does or doesn't.

While the thread started off as being funny - it's become totally lame and pointless.

Modding is awesome. Everyone has their own style. I choose to be really careful with stuff I go with. Supposedly my car is pretty clean for the most part but still looks good enough to stand out as modded. I personally like to focus on performance more than looks. People will have different views. Some think my car is nice, others will make more of a big deal than it really is. Even some will critique me in what its missing. All part of modding. So far Im happy with my mods. Oh yeah, my response...spinners=wtf did i do. Does not belong on the z i dont care what your personal style is. Ahhhh...hideous!

The way i see it is a 350z, not a gt-r, its a 350z, not a lamborghini, it's a 350z, not a fairladyz (not right hand drive), i'ts a 350z, not an IS300/ALTEZZA, so don't put on the damn altezza lights. tis' all.

A lot of the things I'm finding that you guys posted are completely fine to do to a Z. Chrome rims? Please, like that's something to be looked down upon? My buddy's got an '04 Roadster with 19" Zinetti chrome wheels, and it looks absolutely immaculate. The only thing I can agree with is lambo doors. 1. Added weight. 2. More work to get into the car. 3. Wasting money. 4. People don't think it's faster because you have them.

Edit: Oh, and obviously GT-R emblems are ridiculous unless you actually do have an RB26. The other day I saw a GORGEOUS red '99 3000GT VR4, and it was in awesome condition. But, he KILLED it because it had GT-R logos on it. So sad.

LOL

3 of the 4 reasons you posted for not liking Lambo doors are reasons most people don't like Chrome rims.

1. Added weight.
2. Wasting money.
3. People don't think it's faster because you have them.

question by your thinking

is the GTR not going to be a GTR because its not left hand drive when its sold in the states????That fairlady thing doesnt make any sense? It is a fairlady Z as much as the GTR is going to be a GTR in the states or japan.

If it had different specs or anything that made it more JDM then maybey your argument would be more valid , but cmon the Z is all made and put together in japan. From tockico shocks to the calsonic stock exhaust.

You can definitely find chrome rims that reduce overall weight in comparison to the stock rims. Personally, though, I prefer polished.

+1

I think I realized after this thread that no matter how good you think a mod is there will be someone who doesnt like it. Probably why there is so much similarity between all the cars on this forum.

Around here if I don't install a bra for the freeway I'd be repainting the car every year. Dang gravel trucks. I take the bra off in town, running the twisties or for a show. But, on a long trip....most of the time it's there and it works well for me with my black G35 spoiler. Wife likes it better on than off. Not me though.

the GTR will be the GTR if that is what Nissan decides to name the USDM version of the car.........the GTR. if they name it something else like a ABC, then i would still think it's silly to swap the badges out since the window sticker, VIN and factory badging all say ABC.

if it was the exact same car, then there would be no differences, to include where the steering wheel is located or what badges are on the car.

people can do what they want to, but in the end, the real FairladyZ is RHD and labeled as such from the factory floor.

+1 let me add: I'd rather tell someone I have a 350Z than a Fairlady.

nothing wrong with the rims per say, it's the size that's wrong.
