i am pretty sure i have already stated that people can do whatever they want to their cars, not really any of my business. at least until they ask for an honest opinion, then they don't like it when they get it. poor things, i think you can find some Vagisil at the local drug store.
"what? he thinks badging a car with the wrong name is ghey? how un-JDM of him, how dare he? how dare anyone have an opinion that differs from ours?!!?!"
get over yourselves. again, if you all love JDM so much, why not move to Japan? either that or get used to the fact that people will have opinions that aren't the same as yours.

Anyways, I saw a Lemans Z yesterday with black Camaro SS looking stripes, and to top it off had rims that looked like Lexanis. Disgusting.

oh no, wait.....they didn't, because it's a 350Z and not a FairladyZ. when i see a car that's badged Skyline or FairladyZ, i look for RHD. no RHD, not the real deal. why is everyone so mad that i think it's rice to slap badges on a car when that isn't what it is? can i stick Mustang badges on an old Mercury Capri since it's the same thing?
again, here we go with JDM nutswinging. some people like it, some don't. i do not, so back off my nads about it. if you all love JDM so damn much, why don't you move to Japan and you can have all the JDM stuff and REAL Fairladies that you want.
me? i am proud to own a 350Z, a name with as much history behind it as the Fairlady name.
and whoever told me to read up about cars is a moron, you have no idea what i know or don't know. don't assume that just because i think mislabeling a car is rice, i know nothing.

bottom line the car is what it is when it is first made and named, rebranding is only a marketing tool to cater to markets....take for instance cell phones which i work with
the 8525 is known as the hermes in other countries and is known as the tytn in other countries. But bottom line its a 8525. Same idea with the Z. The original name of the car is what it is. Your argument would be valid if the car wasnt made in japan or if it was designed with diff parts or anything of teh sort besides the RHD . But thats not the case.
alas some infiniti owners who are not privy to knowing about there car actually see nissans as a totally alienated separate entitiy which doesnt affiliate with infiniti at all. Of course if they looked at all the parts of there car they get shocked to see that there all nissan parts and actually there is no such thing as infiniti in japan its all nissan.
marketing my friend.

The numbered name adopted for US because of marketing and because of higher displacement adavnces . As all japanese cars are. RHD is the standard over there yes but the name isnt a marker for RHD its just the name of the car. They didnt name the car fairlady because of the steering spot. I dunno what your issue is , but the reason people are saying you soudn like you dont know what your talking about is because you kinda sound like you dont. No pun.

marketing my friend.either way, i just don't get why everyone is getting twisted tampons over the fact that i don't care for badging the car improperly. if everyone is so desperate to change the name to FairladyZ, then i suppose Nissan was wrong in assuming that the name wouldn't sell here in the US. clearly it would.
again, it's my opinion, i don't like badging a car incorrectly. i could care less where it's made, what's different or anything of the sort. same for the Honda Integra badges on the RSX. when you purchase a vehicle from the dealer, it comes badged as one thing, to change it to something else because it makes you get a warm and fuzzy feeling of being a tad more JDM and somehow more exclusive than the next guy with the same car, so be it, it's just not for me.
carry on with the thread........

oh well, to each their own. you like JDM and i don't. let's just agree to disagree shall we?

Personally I'm not a fan of it, but i don't think it's unreasonable to do the JDM thing if there is an actually JDM model with some differences that might make your ride stand out.
