Question Which model?

I wanna just say... this site has been extremely helpful to me thanks to all of you providing tips, tricks, etc.

Now to the question I had....

I am about to purchase my Z and need to know which model sounds right for me. I am mainly a everyday street driver that may gun it every now and then on the highway. As it stands right now I am favoring a Performance model since I'll probably do aftermarket leather when the cloth wears out and aftermarket stereo when time permits, and rims/brakes when $$$ permits...
I may take it to the track once and thats it. (I say that now)

As far as value goes... Is the base or enth. a better value over the performance model as far as what you get?
What features will I get with the performance model that the others dont get, etc. ?

I think most would agree that the Enthusiast offers the most bang for the buck - especially if you're considering aftermarket accessories.

If you start digging through threads here in the general section, you'll see lots of similar questions/discussions. I'm not sure there's really a general concensus.

Myself, I bought a performance model because I wanted the VDC and 18" wheels (which the perf has and enth does not) and didn't want to pay the extra money for Bose (I'll do aftermarket) and heated seats (not THAT useful here) of the touring model... so that extra $$ was hard to justify just for leather.

Long story short: If I knew I were going to sink money into aftermarket wheels, I might have gone with enthusiast. I'm not sure VDC is worth the premium it fetches.

In other words, you'll have to figure out what you think is important and decide based on that. How was that for a non-answer?

Enthusiast is best buy. I bought the Perf because (a) I had a severe case of "gotta have it now" and (b) the Perf was the only model I could find in NorCal to meet my specs;i.e. Brickyard color with no spoiler or other gizmos.

I'm perfectly happy with the Perf & even get a kick out of the 18 inchers that come with the Perf. But if an Enthus. had been around in Brick with no options thats what I would have bought.

I got the enthusist just because I want to upgrade wheels and tires. You seem to be going in the right direction. so really all it comes down too is if having VDC is worth $1000 to you assuming you are getting new wheels. If you are keeping stock wheels, do you prefer 18" or 17"?
