Get whatever you want before this turns into a 07 and pre 07 war.I have a 07 and love it i had a 03 touring pretty well modded and the 07 is just as fast or faster just stock.Plus i did some research on the HR motor and found out some info from shariff. All and all the HR motor is very impressive just google it or search and you will see for yourself.

get an 07, anybody who says otherwise has never driven one, the only cosmetic difference is the hood, and if that bothers you, you have a bigger problem. I actually am growing to dislike the old 'slit' hoods. Also, who wants to gamble with an 'oil consumption' issue. There will be pleny of mods to come down the pipe for this engine, just have to wait...

If you can get a new 06 Track for $28,700 I think you would be nuts not to unless your really wealthy.

Go for the 07. The better engine will give you a resale advantage.

lmao...07 is ugly? Looks like every other Z before it except for the hump in the hood. Do you really think the entire look of the car has changed because of the hump? I sense jealousy.

It's funny to see all the pre 07 owners whine about how it is not that much better...

+1

and personally, i'd go with the 06 track.

and +1 with abyss with the 07 performance. definitely not enough of a difference from the 06 to 07 to pay a few grand more. with the few grand more, throw exhaust, instake, maybe spacer on an 06 and you'd be at par with an 07, if not...faster (more than likely on a rev-up).

If you have to finance, then go for the '06 track. It's a good deal and sounds like it's pretty close to what you want.

If you're paying cash and can buy anything you want, then flip a coin. ;-)

On second thought, if you're financing that means you really can't afford it yet, so - keep saving. ;-) (I know this is not a popular choice.)

Get the 06 track for the brembos and bigger/better wheels as well as the under body diffusers for performance....Now if you want luxury get the 07 for the softer ride and leather, as for performance the 07 HR is a killer. either way congrats on the new "Z"! If you get the track no need to mod but def. take it to some auto-x. if you get the touring definetly add some nice wheels ASAP.

Dude..it all comes down to what you want and how much your willing to spend... who cares what anyone else's opinion is, your the one buying the car.. and u have to figure out if your want to mod.. or stay stock.. and its right back to how much u wanna spend.. 28k for an 06 track.. is an awesome deal.. and u can work that number lower too.. me personally i love my 06 rev-up and the countless mods that i can do to it...

Just curious, what's the difference between the 06' MT and the 07' models engine wise? My 06' red lines at 7k (rev up engine). On the brochure it say's the 06' MT has 300hp and the 07' has 306hp. Just trying to figure out the difference because I just bought mine recently.

It was a toss up on which year to buy, I love the look of the 06' and the limited edition color I got mine in. The dealer mentioned that the engine on the 6-speed 06' models are the same as those in the 07' cars. They said the automatic 06' models come in a non rev up engine and push less power (287hp) than those in that come in 6-speed.

Any truth to this.....or what that a salesman line =]

i love my 06. I wouldn't have waited. I just looked at as i would rather have a small oil problem than have a letter saying i have another recall on my brand new 07. I have just seen a history or stuff going wrong on the first of anything.

The difference might not be huge, but unless you're saving a huge amount of money, it makes no sense not to get the faster car, which happens to be the '07.

If someone owns and '03-05 Z, then I don't think it'd be wise to trade up for an 07, but if someone is buying right now, then why not get an '07. Is a hood really going to hold you back? It's always something about the newer cars. Last year, everyone complained about the new bi-xenon headlights, well guess what, it's no longer an issue.
