Default Should I pull the trigger?

ok so I have been on the forums for a while now, and am about to by a 350Z I am looking for an 2007 touring, but i came around a deal that I think is pretty good, I am getting 23,000 for my trade in, and this guy said he can get me a brand new 2006 350Z track edition for $28,700, should I go head and get it, or would you guys get a 2007 touring, and oh yeah what options does the track edition have?, thanks

Get the 07 hands down. You're just a few thousands off. The new HR engine is worth it. With the track you'll gain Brembo brakes, underbody diffuser, and forged lightweight wheels but no power leather seats.

I have an '06 track, and would much rather have an '07 because of the engine.

See what type of deal you can get on an '07 grand touring. The GT is basically the same as the track model, but has leather.

Yes even after seeing slips I'd rather have a pre-07. 07 is ugly and not THAT much better. With a new Z coming out soon I don't see much aftermarket coming out for the HR.

Other than 1/4 mile, to get the performance of an '07, you'd have to basically do all the basic NA mods. Intake, exhaust, test pipes, mrev and spacer, then a tune. And that's just to be on par with the '07. Quite worthwhile in IMO to get the '07. The hood is really a non-factor in my mind. If you really don't like it, get an aftermarket hood and be done with it.

In time, you should be able to do all the basic mods on the '07 as on the '03-06s. And for FI, well if you pay enough money, they'll be sure to make it for you.

rofl...not even close, the 07 is not that much better..and the hood isn't as simple as 'buy an aftermarket' when there are none for the 07.

There are bound to be aftermarket hoods out in the near future. If that is your only gripe concerning the looks, then it should fix the problem, no?

I might have exaggerated the mods, but in general, you'd have to add another 15-20whp on the '06s to be on par with the '07s. That mod list might be accurate for non-revup engines.

Flat out OP to answer your question, what are you wanting to do with the car? If you want boost go pre-07. If you want stock go 07.

..and no the hood isn't my only reason I decided against the 07. Buying a 1st year production of a car or motor is a bad idea.
