Why does every body enhancement need to be referred to as "Rice". "Rice" is when a car has an excessive amount of decals, stickers, emblems, and the car is slow. Also may include a HUGE wing, that actually hinders performance. Body kits alone, aggressive or mild, really don't push a car into that territory. A bodykit on a Z won't make it look like a Civic. It will be a bad *** Z, that Civic owners wished their ride could be. (wow..that rhymed). 2 years from now, when Zs are all over. Should they all look the same?
In this case, it's the wheels. The wheels look "rice" because, well, they look stupid. If the car were in a carnival as a carousel with little horses to ride, then they would look awesome. Here, they just have that "rice" look.

I too, have a problem with"rice". I first heard the term "rice rockets" to describe japanese motorcycles many years ago. It was intended, at the time, to be deroggatory toward Asians and Asian Americans. It may have evolved further than an ethnic slur in more recent times, but it makes me uncomfortable, knowing its original intent. Gaudy, over the top, ugly, stop a clock, etc. would be more palatable to me.

I would prefer it not be used in this forum, but Danimsta and I may be the only ones it bothers. My opinion, and you can use it or lose it, but this forum is a venue for an exchange of ideas about cars, not people, however benign it may be intended.

Get a grip.

Let's review posting-101, shall we?

When someone puts quotes around a word, what does that mean... I know, I know.. QUOTE!

Let's review English for a sec, shall we?

A Quote, from Webster, is:

"a : to speak or write (a passage) from another usually with credit acknowledgment b : to repeat a passage from especially in substantiation or illustration"

Now, with this new knowledge, please re-read my post. You will notice I put quotes around your famous "no-no" word.

If you still didn't get this, let me be explicit...

I quoted someone's post saying the word "rice." Oops, did it again.

What you should really be upset with is the image showing the carnival wheels on the hot Z.

If everyone stops using words people don't like, then how about if everyone gets a spelling and grammar checker and uses it before each post?

If you need an example of my explanation of what quotes ("") are for, and how I used quotes around the word in question, you only have to go back to Danimsta's post, included here.

Are we all upset with him for using the word "rice" here? We shouldn't be. And if not, then why are you upset with me? We BOTH... (I will repeat that, as it's important) we BOTH used the word the exact same way... as a quote of an earlier post. Seems like you should now get upset with him as well. (but then, that would be silly, and wrong)

Hmmm.... See the pattern?

Okay, I'm off my soap-box.

Now, back to the discussion...

Don't those wheels make the Z look ugly?

I actually like the more pronounced tail spoiler.

Regardless of liking/disliking the various features, it was a nice job of image editing.

If I offended you by saying rice I apologize.
Certainly wasn't my intent. It wasn't meant to be a ethnically offensive statement.

I think most people here feel the same way about this. Nobody has any intention of hurting others. I share your feelings.

...and I (and I'd bet most people on this forum) respect your feelings on the use of the word. Three people posted attacks to me specifically... that is the reason I posted my replies. Thanks for clearing that up.

The reason I think the wheels look bad is the rivets around the entire circumference of the wheel. The spokes look good, but the rivets make the wheel a bad choice (in my opinion) for the Z.
