Props from the cops!?!
On my way home from work yesterday I drove up upon a single lane backup of cars on my normal route home that I take through a residential area. As I slowly approach, I see a cone out in the road with a sign on it saying "Suffolk County Police check point". So, as I'm thinking to myself "here comes my first ticket for no front plate", I notice that they're stopping every third car in the line. Luckily, or so I thought, the car in front of me was stopped so I thought for sure (or hoped) I'd get waved through. NOPE. One of the three cops standing there flags me to stop the car. Since it was a nice day out, I had both my windows rolled down and I hear one of the cops say to the other "damn, that's a hot *** car!" As another officer walks around the car giving it the once over, another cops leans his head in the window and glances at the dash and asks "is it fast?!?!" I reply with "Well, it goes 55
". None of the three said one thing about not having a front plate and they all wished me luck with my new ride and told me to have a nice day.
See, not all cops are bad!

Weird thing happened to me yesterday. Coming home at night from dinner, and I'm driving on the main street in my city. I see a cop pass by going the opposite direction, I see in the rearview that he makes a quick u turn and hauls *** to catch up to me. He actually almost hit another car that turned right in front of him. Surprised he didn't do anything to that driver. Anyways he finally pulls up right beside me on the right, seems to look at the side of my car for a while, slows down, gets behind me as I approach a stop sign to turn left. Then makes a Uturn and goes back the way he came. Go figure, maybe he was checking the car out, maybe he was checking to see if I had any illegal mods. I have no idea. I didn't have a front license plate either.
That's awesome. I have a similar story. On the 2nd day I had my Z, I was giving a friend a ride on a two-lane twisty road and happened to blow around a blind corner at about 80mph and whiz by a cruiser going the other way. As soon as I saw him hit is brakes and lights, I just pulled over and waited for him. He walked up and asked for my license and registration, all the usual. I thought my *** was cooked because I was about 50 over the limit on that road. Instead, he just handed me back my stuff, said "man, that's a sweet fast car! be careful in that thing!" and I was free to go.
Yeah for cool cops!

I speed a little, 10-15 over on freeways and stuff, and when nobody is around triple digits are seen on rare occassions, but 80 in a 30? man, in all honesty, he should have really given you a ticket. 30mph tells me you were in a residential area, or worse a school zone.

They don't LIKE writing speeding tickets. But they don't have a choice.
How many times has some stupid nut on the street pissed you off by driving recklessly?

Maybe the cop didnt clock him...technically speaking them guessing your speed is impractical and unless you confess to it..they can't give you a ticket that would hold up in court. Ive gotten out of numerous tickets by simply tapping on my radar detector on my dash and asking to see the gun.

Well my ends a little different, On my way back from Orlando on Sunday I got in behind a nice 911, and we drove out of fla avg about 100-115mph. Traffic got a little thick and we had to manuever for the best position I had my Vector 985 going strong, As luck would have it I ended up in the best lane so ahead I surged Bose system in full blast windows down just rolling. I get into the centerlane and I keep hearing this odd noise so I glance at the dash I'm at 105mph and go to look in the rear view mirror and the vector in blinking LASER, DAMN that's the noise I've been hearing, I hit the brakes and there is a dead on signal so I know it's me. So I pull over and get the license and cards ready for viewing. He told me he that I was doing 88 in a 70 I thought THAT'S all. Oh Ok . So he writes the ticket I sign it and He says this is really a nice car, How do u like it,( Oh we friends now ) I said great car, and then he proceeds to tell me his best friend has one and just loves it he's thinking about buying one himself. Really well drive safe, YEAH RIGHT
So I wrote my original post last night telling you all about how bad I was being and how cool the cops were for just letting me go. Well, this morning I had the polar opposite experience. I was just minding my own business, not doing a single mph over the limit when a cop came up behind me. He followed close behind me for a little while, then went to pass me cause, like I said, I was doing the limit on the nose. As soon as he got up to where he could look through my window, he slowed back down, got behind me and pulled me over. Now, I'm 24 years old but could pass for 18, but just pulling someone over cause they look young is BS! When he got to my window he had a lot of attitude. To make a long story short, there was nothing he could do to me cause I wasn't doing anything wrong, so he had to let me go. But still I was left with this violated feeling, so I turned to rap music for the answer. Now I'm screamin' 187 on a MF cop!
Who knows, maybe he just wanted a closer look at the car? Either way it was annoying.

I realize that last post may have been a little offensive, so here's my ....
Clarification and half-assed appology: I'm not a criminal. I have no intention of killing cops or anyone else for that matter. If you listen to rap music, perhaps you thought my statement was funny. If you didn't think it was funny, perhaps you're too old or too sensitive. Either way, please understand my dislike of being discriminated against no matter who the offender or what the situation.
I've been stopped too and I believe all the cop wanted was to see the car. Many cops are car lovers too so be nice and most times they're nice back at you. Once I cleaned the crap out of my pants I even offered the cop a ride when he got off.
the 3rd or 4th night I had my car I got pulled over in IL I live in MO, for not having a front plate. He then got an attitude when I told him I just bought the car and didn't have a bracket for it yet. Then asked why the plate on the rear showed up as a Chevy, which I replied, because I traded the Chevy in for this car.
He ended up giving me a warning for not having a front plate, but can a cop in another state give you a ticket for not having a front plate if you are licensed elsewhere????
I like cops, I know they are doing their job, some are dicks, some aren't, it kinda comes with the territory, they run into a lot more dicks than most people do in a day.
