Default Anyone feel like it's not the same to drive the Z when you take a mod off?

First a couple of disclaimer:
1. No, I am not insulting stock 350Z. Enjoy your Z the way you want it. That's fine with me.
2. This topic(at least for me) is more about how the car look(aesthetics) or sound. Bodykit, cat-back, intercooler from a turbo setup, etc.

I've been driving around with a front lip for about two years and I took it off to get it repainted. I noticed during the three days that I had to drive the Z without the lip, I didn't feel the same joy as I did before. I noticed I didn't make excuses to go for a little cruise to pick something up at the store. I drove my winter beater to work instead of the Z, etc. Only when I got the lip back and put on did I get the same feeling back. I'm curious to find out if I am just crazy or has anyone felt the same way as well.

I know how you feel....I drove to the shop and back today without my front bumper and hood and it felt wacked as hell...................

haha ok ok that's expected. But all jokes aside I do feel the same way. When I was waiting for my new wheels...I sold my SSR GT2 and was on stock 18s for a while and it felt so out of place. I didn't want to drive it hence she sat in the garage until the Volks arrived.

I drove around for a few days wihtout a front bumper and it was actually not that bad. I could hear the turbo spool loud as hell and BoV was nice and loud. I also got a lot of stares from random people and a few other cars playing around with me.

Maybe it's the ricer in me but I thought it was kind of fun for a change.

I know how you feel...

In between tire-changes where she's on the stockies, I rather just leave her at home.

I think I'll feel the same way if i switch my V2 to stock. The looks is just far apart each other.

Plus I see too many stock Z's here in socal. If you've got some aesthetics you feel a lil different. (but in the end its just a mind game)

I feel the same.

But i think the reason for me is because I've become accustomed to how my car looks/sounds/performs up to a certain point in my my modding hisotry that when/if I take a mod off, I feel embarrased that my Z is not up to par.

And yeah, when its not up to par, i try to minimize my driving.

OT kostat: damn your up early.

Same. I've been studying for my exam tomorrow.. or today for that matter.

I can't help that 'studying' includes being on my350 most of the time.

ive spent too many wrench hours and money to take things off. I think that would depress me also. If my car went back to stockies or a stock sounding exhaust set up... i might cry
