i need a Z NOW!
Susan,
Welcome to my350Z.com . Most of us here know the passion you feel right now, and I believe a good many of us keep that passion throughout their time owning a Z.
Deftones is right though, reel it in a little so that you dont get suckered by a dealer. You can find used Z's for a good price, especially if youre willing to haggle, or you can hardball the stealership for a decent price for one. Just be prepared to walk away if you have to. Im not from that area so I'd guess everyone else who has chimed in with dealership suggestions probably knows better than I do.
Dont listen to Davids (crotchety old man
[or is that the other davids?]), we have several female z drivers that are members here. You will find the people here for the most part wonderful. Browse around the site for a while and look for the area for new buyers and leasers. Use the search function first, as chances are, youre question has been asked a million times over. Then ask someone if you cant find something relevant enough to you. These people here all helped me with information that eventually led to my purchase of a Z. I was plenty prepared and knew the facts thanks to everyones suggestions and responses. They even helped prevent me from buying one that Id have likely regretted later.
Good luck and when you get your z, feel free to show us the pics and let loose with all that enthusiasm you feel. (cept for maybe in the regular font size, ok?)

I laughed at some of the Bay Area dealers when I was shopping for my car (Dublin), they wanted to add 2k to the sticker like it's a hard car to find. Drive an hour or so away from the Bay and you'll be ok. My suggestions would be to start in Tracy, then Modesto, Stockton, Elk Grove & Roseville. Good luck =D
...... I can only add: Find the car ahead of time on the internet. Use the NISSAN site to locate the car you want then call and ask for the Internet Car Mgr. Tell him you'll drive to him and pick up the car if he'll do $500 under invoice. Now is the time to buy with the deals around the 4th. Good Luck !!!

I'm most likely picking up an 07 myself. If and when I do, it will be through Jeff @ Performance Nissan. They put me in touch with the fleet manager there, so it'll be a quick and easy transaction with no sales hassle.
If you can travel to SoCal, you can probably get one from there. I'd recommend contacting Jeff@Performance and see if he can put you in touch with the right people. If you can't travel, I'd recommend calling a dealership with a fleet department in your area, getting the fleet manager's name (so when you call in the future, a salesman won't intercept your call) and buy a car through them.
