totally fell in love with the 2007 350Z (touring minimum for me). any advice, direction, comments you could offer would be greatly appreciated. i live in the sf bay area and have no problem driving a bit for the best car/price/options/etc.
BTW--first time using a forum of any kind so if you need to direct me to other parts of the site, please do.
THANKS IN ADVANCE

Go to a dealer, find a car you like and offer 500 under invoice. If they don't want to deal, leave and try the same approach at another dealership. Try not to fall in love with the car. By the looks of the title of your thread, you are a stealerships wet dream; an eager buyer ready to pull out your checkbook and do some damage. Take your time and shop it around. I laughed at some of the Bay Area dealers when I was shopping for my car (Dublin), they wanted to add 2k to the sticker like it's a hard car to find. Drive an hour or so away from the Bay and you'll be ok. My suggestions would be to start in Tracy, then Modesto, Stockton, Elk Grove & Roseville. Good luck =D

I agree, try a farming town like Fresno where everyone buys trucks. You'll have a natural leverage to workout a good deal.
I am in San Mateo, so make sure to show off your car when you pull the trigger.

My advice would be to stay away from the south bay for sure. Had no luck with any of the stealerships there and espeically bad luck at Stevens Creek NIssan (AVOID). Ended up going an hour north (for me) to Richmond and scored an 07 Touring 2 weeks ago. I used VPP through my employer and ended up with the car for what is effectively about $3000 under MSRP. With tax and DMV fees the final price "out the door" was close to MSRP. They initaiilly presented me with an MSRP + $3995 markup however, if you can beleive that - so my final paid price was $7000 below where they started!
I've seen mixed reviews on the VPP, and probably a good haggler at the right time and place could get the same or better deal but the VPP gave me a formula to figure out what I should pay. I stuck to my guns and paid no more than that and so I found it useful in that respect. If you can get out the door with Tax and DMV for the real MSRP (or less) on the exact car that you want then I think you're doing well. Plan on a battle though as the stealership will not give up $ easily. Do your research ahead of time and definitely check out the other areas of the forum that go into more detail.
Good Luck!

go to Dublin Nissan... i got a quote there for 29k OTD for base, I am sure you can get it for like 28.5K OTD especially its summer.
You can also try, Concord Nissan.
I would say for less than 3k more you can get a touring.
