Just confirming everything you said

Your right obviously the track will influence times, i'm saying like everyone else, that on an ideal track you should hit those times.

Don't go crazy now. With slicks you might be able to get mid thirteens, it will take a lot more to get into the 12s
Was the 07 broken in when you drove it?

I had an 06 with decent mods. It pulled hard with the mrev and spacer but when I stepped into the 07 the powerband and mid range torque was totally different. Yes they might run similar times at the track but the power delivery is where its at.
I ran a 13.5@103 in my 07 in 94degree heat with 80% humidity. Stock tires. Almost everything stock except Nismo catback

That’s pretty impressive performance. You may want to post times here: https://my350z.com/forum/drag/233840-top-25-1-4-mile-times-for-tt-st-supercharger-nitrous-bolt-ons-stock.html.

The HR motor has more torque at the top >6000rpm (where you need it most during actual races). The DE motor was meant to be a Daily Driver and give you that monster horsepower "feel" with all that low-end torque. That's cool for street driving because most of the time, no one else around you is "racing" so passing is made quick and easy. In a real race app, the DE falls short (stock tuning) of a true sports car because it lacks that top end rush. It doesn't maintain the hard acceleration throughout the powerband. That's why some butt dyno enthusiasts think the car is faster from 4-5000 rpms (though that is not true).
Again, class is in session: HP=TQ*RPM/5252

Wow, idk how you resisted, I broke my car in, in 10 days. I i finally got on it at around 800, not all the time but i had to feel the power. I agree the 07 does kick ***. Im soooo happy with it, idc if the 08 looks different and has like 30 more hp.... im happy with what i got. Top end does kick ***, friend told me to floor it at like 70 on the highway but he actually said something else and i was amazed how i shot off, my last car had NOOOOO top end. I'm in love with the handling, i cant imagine new tires and sway bars.

Check out Nissan.usa.com to find out the different weights of each year. I dont think 05's were 3500.

05s don't weigh 3500 lbs. They are closer to 3300 depending on what you have in the car. I think car and driver weighed the 07 at 33xx
