I respect them and have actually grown to somewhat like the appearance but it still looks like the fast and the furious. BTW, those crazy bastards in Japan ran the 1/4 in 12.6x in a stock Evo IX. And he was right with what he said... only people that talk **** on the Evo are Americans. The rest of the performance world has nothing but praise for it.

I think less than half of the posts in this forum would qualify as college level reading material.

 

I would buy the Evo IX MR because Car and Driver predicted it to become a collectors car like the Supra is today and hold its value as such. The IX is the last of a long line on that platform and there are far fewer than 350z's.

BTW I own a 350Z but would trade for a IX MR any day of the week.

 

He left out the word 'twin'. I'm serious... not trying to defend anyone but he isn't that stupid.

 

If you get an Evo dont get the MR the six speed tranny isn't all that great. You'll enjoy the five speed alot more and it keeps you in boost better than the six. I worked for Tuning Technologies which is one of the top evo tuners here on the west coast for 2 years, and everyone that had the MR wished they had bought the gsr instead (5 speed). The only thing thats nice about the MR is the Blisten Suspension. You could go on to SoCalEvo.net and ask the same question there about the MR or gsr.

 

I've said this more than once in this thread. I guess when people hear "MR" they all of a sudden think "best Evo"... not sure why.

I totally agree with you, I'm not sure why people think the MR is the best evo either, I would much rather save myself 6 grand and use that towards mods for a gsr

 

personally if everyone hates the boy racer look just do a spoiler delete(cf trunk looks clean anyways) but ya the evo and sti are pretty cool cars and well respected IMO though i like them well sti better(just bc ima subaru fan lol) but i would take both anyday bc white like the OP mentioned cf hood and cf trunk black wheels and a drop is just sexy(oh and tint) IMO opinion though...but you have to think really any import(including our beloved z) can be called a fast and furious ricer! bc hey most imports were shown on that movie(you forget the main cars included 2 Z'z and a evo) so i wouldnt base my opinion on these cars bc of a movie, if you are a TRUECAR ENTHUSIAST you have respect for all these autos no matter how played out they might be, think of our roots when there was no 350z and evo IV's etc etc, ya there were modded accords, civics old school Z, etc etc etc that started this craze and i hate when vehicles are labeled bc of morons that drive them and movies they starred on, i just like the style, motor and basically all the essence(sp.) of the vehicle! hehe my 2 cents for today
