I agree, my friend owned a 300ZX and his key was awesome. One piece Aluminun with a Z logo. That was the first thing I was looking forward to when I picked up my Z. But they gave me a regular Nissan key You can't even tell them apart from my friends Altima key . I'm not putting him down but I spent over 30k I thought it woulda came with a nicer key. Thats just MO.

WOW..old thread back from the dead...about keys. LOL
I'm gonna buy one of those switchblade keys and just cut the bottom off of my valet key and glue the chip part inside the steering column.

that proximity key is named differently depending on the car company but its definately cool. with most smart key systems it will unlock the car when you get within a certain distance of the car, then you don't even have to put it in the ignition, you just press the brake and hit a button and the car starts. that would be a cool feature....some of the manfactuers have even made the key into the size/shape of a credit card so you can just keep it in your wallet. I'm sure eventually aftermarket alarm/accessory companies will come up with their own systems.....

The more advanced keys get the more ways thieves will find to steal your car. That's the good thing about regular keys. I'm afraid of that auto lock/unlock keyless start.

I would understang why u would want a nicer key... The newer ones have a nissan logo that looks better. Look at the keys on a ferrari.. BADASS. I found a few nice keys but it did not have the transponder so blah.

All you have to do is tape your valet key up inside your steering column within a few(3 I think) inches of the ignition. Then you can use any key you want to.
