Added new SO3's, still won't drive it.

I always feel that the car has a mind of its own and does what it damn well pleases. Safety and enjoyment -- not here pal.

I added one of the best GPS/Audio systems you can buy, but the Z stays in the garage. Sliding around in the rain is dangerous; sliding around in the Colorado snow [even with snows] is dangerous. I have magazines to publish and I can't do that dead.

$50,000 Z and it sits in the garage. Thank goodness for my S8. At least I have one car I can depend on and have fun driving.

Mr. K, we need to talk.
publisher,

You need to be careful what you say on this forum, careful about expressing your freedom of speech. If you aren't like a deer caught in the headlights of Nissan, if you aren't just dazzled by everything Nissan does and says, if you dare say anything negative about your Z, if you aren't completely caught under the spell of your Z, if you even think, yes think, the Z is not what you thought it would be, you run the serious risk of experiencing the wrath of some owners. They'll call you a whiner; they'll say you make them sick; they'll tell you to "get over it," and they'll threaten to not read anything you publish. It's perfect logic, if someone doesn't like his/her Z, then that person can't have a valid opinion about anything in life.

So you just fall in line and march like a good soldier. Stop all that negativity and put your head in the sand like the rest of them. How dare you question the almighty Nissan!

Give me a list of what you publish! I'll read it!

No car is perfect. Especially sports car. No dealer is perfect. No manufacturer is perfect. If you'll go to BMW's or Porsches forums you'll see that Z's problems are nothing serious in comparison.

The question was "would you do it again?" And I'm saying I would. I don't see any below 50 car on the market that could compete with Z. Do you?
Nope, no 2 seaters at all.

God, I love this job and appreciate your wit, glad you enjoyed mine. BTW, I only publish Sport Z Magazine and, just so you know, we take Visa and Mastercard and US buckers.

You can have my 350Z if you can rip it from my cold dead hands.

BTW, the summer issue of Sport Z went into the mail on Friday, the 23rd. of May -- A week early for your reading enjoyment.

Loved your post fotodad...

I would definitely buy it again...the STi sometimes calls to me though...*in a dreamy voice* "I'm all wheel drive, I have adjustable LSD, I'm fast, I handle well in snow and rain, I'm the same price you paid for your Z, come drive me."

Would I buy another one, hmmm maybe not. In general, the car is great. The handling is exceptional, the acceleration is ok but not wonderful, the tune-ability is dismal, the quality is good but could use improvement, the dealer service is substandard.

First of all I own an early model Touring MT and have been comletely unimpressed with the Bose system and the support from both Bose and Nissan in fixing the problem. I do not intend to debate it here, but the bose systems is the poorest system I have ever owned. I have written bose 10 times and they have responded once saying they know the system is substandard and are working on the problem. I have been waiting 8 months for them to come up with a solution, and Bose can't come up with a forecast as to when they will have a handle on it. NNA is equally as useless. NNA or Bose have both recognized and documented the issue, but fail to act.

The car is not a rocket ship, lets face it folks. Ok, I'll admit I bought the car sight unseen, HP unknown, weight unknown. I am accustomed to my 300zx TT where I could tune in another 100 hp and have exciting accelleration. The 350Z, in its current form, will never have exciting acceleration. In summary, I miss the turbos.

Fooling around with aftermarket CAI's and cat back exhausts to boost performance just doesn't provide the bang for the buck. I am still waiting for a product that provides a substancial gain other than "sounds mean" as a criteria for purchase.

I have taken my car back to the dealer two times to fix an oil leak, grease smears on the windows and the bose system issue. All three problems still exist as Nissan Mechanics provide moronic conclusions for the issues at hand. (even when I provide them the TSB) They did manage to align the front end that was defective from the factory which resulted in premature tire wear.

I know, what do you expect for a first off production run, there will be problems. Yes, you are right I guess I am whining a bit. Maybe I am just pissed at the Nissan guys and their inability to fix the car. Like I said the car in general is great, its the little things like product support that has me less than satisified.
