IMO people can use whatever words to express how they feel about something. Perhaps he truly DID "hate" the Z before; dislike would have been too weak of a word to describe how he felt about the Z before.

+1 for a great self discovery!

I did the opposite of you (had a Z, went to an STi). For almost three years I tried justifying my Z by paying attention to the looks and the linear power band. Then I bought my STi, should have bought it a long time ago. Nearly a second quicker from 0-60, funnest car I've owned yet. Comparing my Z to my STi is a no brainer, the Z is tame! Not to be confused with lame, just tame. It's pretty though, which counts for something.

Whatever floats your boat.

I agree, but the STi just SCREAMS boy racer, you know? Not as classy looking as the Z.
And you realy still can't compare FI to NA, two different classes.
However, adding a Turbo to the Z would have you flipping back to this side in a heart beat!!! Disregard the price.

even when i sold the 06 and got the 07 i still stayed with the Z.

No doubt about that, it does scream boy racer. However, I could care less about what other people think my car looks like. I'm more concerned about performance. Then again, with that logic, I should have just turboed the Z. But I couldn't justify spending over a third the price of the car to increase performance...safely.

It's not just the turbo that has made me forget about the Z, it's the AWD. Now that I've owned the STi, I'll probably stick with the AWD FI combo in the future. Who knows though, the car with the most potential to sway me from the above is the G37 coupe. I'm looking forward to how that one plays out. I could almost see myself tempted to sacrifice performance (no FI, no AWD) for the looks and luxury of the G37, if it turns out to be reliable.

We'll see.

SRT-4 with staged upgrades, now that would be fast for cheap, lol. J/k.

Vr-4 spyder, awd, twin turbo, convert, aws, and weighs the same as an sti and 350z....put together, lol.

It took me awhile to get used to the updated look of the sti, but i do like it, the previous year look is the most aggressive look imo.

Wasn't the tranny the "achilles heal" of the VR-4? I could be wrong but still curious if you know.

I have an 05 STi. I may be biased but I do like the look of it compared to the newer one and definately compared to the concept pics of the 2008 . If it performs though, what car enthusiast can knock it? We'll see.

my buddie has or should i say had a STI (2006) hes upgraded every year, until his g/f caught him cheating on her and sadley the STI was in her name so she just took it! he was looking on getting a new one, but after i baught my Z he said hes never ridin in one...so i changed that and the second he sat in it and i drifted around his apt. he quickly changed his mind and now hes looking for a Z.. haha..

his words were "*** the skubie (he calls it skubie) im buying a Z"
