This Month's Best Motoring

6 Laps around Tsukuba:
1.) NSX Type R - 3.2L 276hp
2.) Impreza RA-R - 2.0L turbo 276hp
3.) Impreza Spec C - 2.0L turbo 276hp
4.) Lancer Evo 9 MR - 2.0L turbo276hp
5.) Civic Type R - 2.0L N/A 225ps (222hp)
6.) Nismo Fairlazy Z (350Z) - 3.5L 313hp
This is the second time in a row where the Nismo Z gets humiliated by the lowly Civic type R.
Don't get me wrong, I love Nissan. But it is apparent now that the new Z (370Z?) will need to do a tad better to save Nissan's reputation. Last month, the civic type R spanked the Nismo. Also, all other companies were faster than the R34 V-spec by 4 seconds.

u belive this best motoring crap its junk they got diffrent drivers behind the wheel of each car and usely the crap drivers drive the higher powerd cars while kinchi or gan san runs the other low power cars and beats the other crap drivers not the cars
plus if u go back a few mouths a plan 07 race a s2k and destoryed it around the track belive it ran a low 1:06 so funny how its running 2 seconds slower in this race

these lap battles are completely staged, comeon... I've watched alot of the BM vids and they suck for a real comparison.
starting position matters as well.
but either way... lol at the inflammatory thread. what a joke.

I really enjoy the BMI videos...but they definitely get very inconsistent results during their Tsukuba battles. I always get the feeling that the "featured" car in each video typically has a leg up on the rest of the field. Example: the Z Shock video...guess who won the battle against an E46 M3 and an S2000....the Z. In stock trim the S2000 would edge out the Z for sure.
Just like any other type of magazine or review show...the results tend to favor the highest bidders
. Still a fun show though.

I don't know why people yell "Conspiracy! It's a set up! It's fixed! Nissan didn't bribe the right people!" whenever there's a comparo where the Z gets beat (conversely, people here will praise any test that has the Z or another Nissan product that comes out on top because there can't possibly be a fix whenever Nissan wins
Let's just call it like it is and suck it up, folks, the Z will get beat once in a while, sometimes by a "lowlier" car.
