I've become more attentive to other drivers actions...and my own...

I've slowed down a lot, probably due to the fact that the car is paid off, and I don't want anything to happen to it...

I used to be reckless and stupid....about 15 years ago....
smashed up a beautiful white '83 280zx being stupid...
(man....I miss that car...)
(note to self.....don't pass when it's foggy....)

anyway.....That's not gonna happen again with my new SO...
I'm hoping to put "antique" plates on this one someday....
(I think I can do that in the year 2032....)

How long have you had your 07 Z? lol

I think in almost a year and 23K miles of driving the Z it has honed some of my skills --- mostly weight distribution and making smoother inputs with the controls

I have had some opposite lock moments from pushing it a little harder than I wanted to and I found her to be very predictible and easy to catch....thats with the VDC off too...I leave it on in the serious stuff

As my tires wear down I am finding 100% throttle application in the lower gears takes some finesse and I can spot water a mile away....the Z does not like water

245 fronts/ 265 worn rears + water = how YOU doing opposite lock right turn .....keep in mind I live in a desert where the avg temp is 100* and the only water we have is from sprinklers and car washes lol

My Z made me a worse driver. I tend to speed and become impatient because people around me are too slow. Since I switch to my FX I've mellowed out.

Z made me speed.

X5 made me become an older person......the only thing i listen now is NPR. It's true, the radio has now become infested with crap.

NPR and ESPN is the only good thing now on radio.

Getting my Class A CDL & hauling up to 80,000#'s across I-80 in the winter made me a better (if not scared sh*tless) driver.

well..the Z is making me more..delicate.

With my 2005 Cobalt the clutch to gas ratio was pretty deep. Not very sensitive at all.

The Z's clutch and gas...I find I don't even have to down on the gas I just have to rest my foot on it while letting the clutch out of the engagement point. So..driving fast you also have to be delicate...so I'm getting use to keeping it cool while driving aggressively

My motocycle made me a good driver...unfortunately insurance companies dont consider me a good driver due to speeding tickets. But as far as skills and everyday driving I think I am an excellent driver. All thanks to my RR. Now I slide sideways on purpose thanks to the Z...lol

i think Z made me more of an attentive driver. I think it is due to being myself back into the stick shift. My first car was a beat up toyota stick and I have been driving automatic corolla for 6 years before the big replacement. It was very hard getting back on it, heck like some of you said, never had a car so sensitive to gas and clutch engaging point.

The car is very predictable, and pretty much goes where my steering wheel is pointing to. considering the fact that i drive the Z at the relatively at normal speeds, it rather makes me feel safe.

I've always been one hell of a learner. I want to master everything I do, which made me the person I am today. It's a lot like what Tom Cruise said in the Last Samurai (which he definitely is NOT). Because of the Z, I wanted to become an even better driver than I was before. I fuel it up, and it fuels my desire.

Yup. Z made me more aggressive. That might not be "better".

It's like you have to fight to keep the monster from getting out...the abuse potential is so high.

The Z has definitely made me a better driver. Its power, RWD, and effortless steering abilities has made more cautious and careful then when I was driving hondas, where you had to drive aggressive and keep on the gas pedal to keep the momentum going.

I was a good driver before I got the Z

Grew up playing a lot of video games.... racing karts... and I have been driving sports cars since I was legal to drive... first car I ever drove on my own was a manual 240sx when I was 14...

The Z is a relatively easy car to drive to the limit... it has a modest amount of power and handles beautifully... but it can easily get a novice in trouble real fast (as this forum demonstrates all the time).
