I'd wait for 09 or look into a different car. Sure you can turbo your 03 but it wont be anything new or speical.

If you are bored with your current Z, adding a turbo (at considerable cost) will make it faster, but it's possible that the thrill might only be temporary. Ultimately, you're still driving the same '03. Should you then decide to buy the '09, the "03's resale will not improve due an investment in the turbo. In fact, you might have to restore the car to stock to trade or sell it. It seems a lot of money spent on a turbo that might be used for less than 24 months (when the '09's go on sale). Moreover, should you damage your engine, your turbo experience is likely to cost you even more.

I think if you wait for the '09 then you will get bored with it. You sound like you are bored with your '03 and want to do something diff with it. I think your better choice would be to turbo the '03 since the '09 won't be THAT diff from your '03.

+1 on the turbo 03
you'd smoke the 09 when it comes out by the time it actually gets here
who knows it might be a weaker car than what we have now requiring more work

You'll be waiting longer than 09 if this report is correct. The new 3.7 and redesign isn't due until 2011 now.

The new 3.7 liter HR thats in the G37 from the reveiws ive read everyone says that motor is awesome which Automobile dyno'd it at 287whp bone stock.

Wait till late 08 and see how the 09 looks. Then make your decision.

the redesign and the 3.7 are not happening at the same time. The 09 Z is still supposed to get the 3.7 engine and become the 370z but the body will look pretty much the same. The redesign of body won't happen until 2011 at which time most likely the motor will change too. They probably couldn't get the everything together in time for 09 so they said lets push it back and for the time being drop in the 3.7 motor. Honestly I'd take your 03 and the money you have saved for a turbo and like someone already said, get a Vette. The new 08's have 430hp which even a turbo 350z would have a hard time hanging with. Or, wait until next april with the GT-R comes out and get that. Sure it's more expensive but it's well worth it.

I dunno, with the spotted mule of the shortened Z, 2009 will likely see a new Z. Although they say the design will be evoluitonary and now revolutionary, the chassis looks like it will be slightly different (shorter, light). I think these changes qualify it as a new Z.

Well, since you already paid off the the 03 and you've got over a year to wait for the 09, just turbo the 03 already.

Funny how some websites are saying that the 2011 will have the 3.7 motor instead of 09 because of the 09 GTR. That would be a ridiculous move, and I know Nissan is smarter than that.

definitely. I see some slight changes here and there with body panels and possibly a smaller wheelbase and a 3.7 motor producing over 330hp.
