Exclamation Z Cruise to Corvette Museum in KY

Anyone else in the area who would like to join us, the Middle Tennessee Z Club is planning a Day trip to the CORVETTE MUSEUM, Bowling Green, KY on Saturday, May 17, 2003

We will meet at Crawford Z Car Service to leave as a group for Bowling Green at 11 AM. It takes just over an hour from Nashville to Bowling Green on I-65 North. Anyone wishing to meet up with the group should meet us at the first rest area in Kentucky at the Kentucky state line on I-65 North about 11:45 AM.

We will go to Bowling Green to TOOTS RESTAURANT (similar to Hooters) on Scottsville Road (EXIT 22) just of I-65N for lunch, and then to the museum off I-65N (EXIT 28). The admission to the museum is $8, or $6 with a Kroger Plus Card. It takes about 1 1/2 hours to tour the museum.

Afterward, we will decide if we want to stay in Bowling Green for the Saturday night drag races at BEECH BEND Park, as some members have expressed an interest, or return to Nashville for a cookout or to go to dinner somewhere.

My brother just took a tour of the 'Vette plant this past Friday. They (my brother and his friend) saw a Z06 get assembled and then were able to crank up after it came off the line and some other stuff.

I think they only got to do that because my bro's friend is an engineer there.

I was supposed to be down there for Buick GS Nationals, my brother will be there with his '65 Buick Electra 225. I was not going to go, but this may change my mind. My only question is how would you be able to race at Beech Bend? I was under the impression that only Buick powered vehicles will be able to race that weekend as the GS Nationals take up that track for the weekend (at least that is how it was last year). If you want to see a good show there will almost definitely be a Buick powered 240Z there running mid-10's.

It was a member who suggested Beech Bend, I have not checked into it. If you want to come and hang out that would be cool. If there is another event at the Bend, I guess we will not do that part.

Edit:
It looks like the Buick event ends that day and It says nothing about it interfering with the normal Saturday Shootout which starts at 5 PM.
