Check out the new August issue of EVO a british mag, gave the 07 Z high praises for the new VQHR engine, 07 Z was given 5 stars & the bmw coupe 4 1/2 stars. Great write up for the new Z. picked up the issue my self even though it was $10

 

i saw that @! it was a z4 coupe vs. a z ! Z killed that bimma!

 

the Z4 is for women drivers.....they should've compared it to the 335i coupe, where the Z would get pwned

 

I think this test were for coupes not sport sedans. Either way I would take my 07 Z any day over the 335 even though the 335 is a little faster. BMWs are fugly imo..nice cars but I would never buy one, they dont attract or appeal to me.

 

Don't agree with you about the 335i being ugly, but they are made for short people, I have no leg room for my 6'4 frame, yet in my 350zr I fit like a glove, go figure....

The only 335 drivers I've seen recently have been Asian dudes!

 

I think Bimmers are gorgeous but it really doesn't matter...I buy cars for performance, not looks.

 

I would by a 550i if I had 65k for it....

For now, I LOVE my 26k 350z 0-60 in 5.1 sec or less with a nice 1st to 2nd a s s slide ! that makes any passenger go OMFG ! and look for the Oh chit handle !

 

so a Z does 5.1 sec or less......damn i think i bought the wrong Z.

Not surprised. I drove the Z4 coupe on a track (and the M-Coupe). The lack of an LSD for the Z4 really hampers it... more than you'd initially think. That said, it's a great little car, but it far too expensive for what you get. IMO, though, the 350z would be better compared to the M-Coupe. Both are very fun cars, and the M-coupe has plenty of traction with its LSD, so it'd be a very close call. For the price, the 350z wins easily, but if all you considered was performance, I'd say they are equal. The 350z looks a little better (IMO) and has a bit more space, so after you start looking BEYOND the performance, the 350z is just the better choice.

Now as far as the 335i ... well, I like it a lot (and the 335i coupe is damn sexy to me), but it simply isn't a sportscar. It's fun, but not that fun. I'd get it for the 0-60 times, but not for autocross or track. The "comfort" of the car doesn't matter that much to me, but it does have a ridiculous amount of room (it's one of the very few cars where I have an excess of room).

Thumbs up to all the cars though ... the 335i, Z4, M-Coupe, or 350z would be exceptional cars to own.

However, stock turbo cars are easily modified and generate big performance increases for little money invested.

 

I personally say that if both cars are stock and both launch...the 335 can take the Z without ne problem. its much more smoother to drive and turn. However, you feel more of a kick in the Z. When it comes to a smooth drive vs. the feeling of speed and excitment...its really up to the driver. I personally have both the 07 335i and an 06 Z. I love to drive both and would have a hard time choosing between the 2. But when i wanna go for a fun drive and wanna speed (ITS WAY MORE FUN IN THE Z) .

 

the 335i and the Z are in two different categories. the G37 is the proper comparison vehicle to the 335i.

NO IT ISN'T. The 335i spanks even lightly modified Z33's and G35's. LMAO!!! Much less everything else the bimmer offers that the Z can't.

 

Z4 Coupe is a "M" model and direct competitor to the Cayman S. The car is no chick car.

 

The Z4 coupe is NOT an "M" model. The M-Coupe (the M version of the Z4) is, however.
