Default Loosing sleep over ding/s

Am I the only one who looses sleep over small door dings, no matter what I do... it seems like 1 or 2 is inevitable on all of my cars. Got a new 1 on the Z yesterday and a small ripple in my upper quarter panel that you can see when light is hitting it correctly. I swear... no matter how or where I park, no matter what I do... the tiny dings haunt me. Am I the only one? What do you do to get over them?

Don't sweat the small stuff. Sheat Happens. Parking way out in the "South Forty" won't always protect your car (but the long walk is good exercise).

Here is how I live with this. Once a year, I take my Z to the car spa. She gets the the full package (paintless dent repair, wheel-rash fix, interior shampoo, exterior detail, and a full body wax). She always looks new after the spa trip.

I have an "older" Z (a 2003 Performance model), so I'm thinking about some "organ" transplants and maybe a little cosmetic surgery. Maybe some Nismo replacement parts this year? ...just to make her feel good and new...

I feel bad because I got a small scratch under my door and I don't know how it got there. I know your pain. You work hard to prevent and it happens anyway.

...Just get a saturn they don't dent

I bought my car 2 weeks ago and on the 3rd day, I noticed there were 2 dings on the door. It bothered me so much that I spent $75 the following day to have the dings removed.

Money well spent!

Heres how I avoid them...

a. I park so ridiculously far away..when I drive it..that no one can even have a chance...

b. I garage her..

c. I have only 6k..not my daily driver...that helps..

d. I have however had rake in the garage fall on it...when all else fails..i opened my wallet...$500 later...shes perfect again..

the only thing I can allow are rock chips in the front...but Im getting a new bumper w/3m...so that will fix that...

sorry bro..they kill me too

i try to avoid them which i have done great so far. Almost too extreme.

My car came with two which i got removed for $25 each with dentless removal. I can't even locate where it is. It's 100% gone.

yeah, i work at a major dealership. We have a PDI "ding guy" come in every friday for our used cars that people trade in and to make them look its very best, you have to take out the dings. They do great work. I watched the guy do it and he never touched the ding itself from teh outside. No scratches or any type of touching on the vehicle. I'm so meticulous with my car.

Its bordering on obsessive-compulsive for me Every time I come back to the car, I crouch down along side her and see if anything has marred the surface of the doors. I hate doing it! When I worked at the dealership, I took the Z to the dent guy the very next day I noticed a ding. OCD to the extreme!

Thats why I bought the cheapest beater car ($750) that I could! I make it a point to park as normal as possible, next to the largest, dumbest vehicles (trucks, Mustangs, Thunderbirds etc.), and if I get a door ding, I will be happy about it Its like therapy; I even feel good thinking about it!

Lol, i think its weird. I see people who take every precaution and they always get stung. However, with me... i just park wherever and don't think about it too much. After 2 years of living in So Cal and working in Hollywood (parking sucks there). I have no door dings, just some scratch and rock chips on bumper from my own fault, and i accidently stalled into the rear end of my brothers bimmer, leaving me with a nice indentation of his license plate.

do you live in the city? Sorry, but if it bothers you that much than avoid it. Park in BFE like many of us do. I park beyond the empty spots. Its absurd. I have gotten one door ding in almost three years and had it removed within 48 hours for 50 bucks.

Door dings can be avoided....dont be lazy.

I follow all of those ... but also run a couple of ropes along the garage wall where my rakes are. No dings yet. I'm going to flip when I get one.

I used to get pissed/angry about it. It got to the point that I dont really care anymore. My car gets driven. It's going to get chips/dings.
