It's a long story, but basically I work at a dealership (parts guy) we own ford, lincoln, mercury, jeep, nissan, honda, suzuki...etc...blah blah blah...anyway. My friend traded in his 350Z to get a used Z06, I then bought the 350Z off the Ford lot, they sold it to me as is because my dealership sucks. Especially to employees, the car had the extended warranty though, and luckily I was friends with the previous owner and he was cool enough to sign it over to me. However you have to go through transfer hell to do it, getting an inspection, having all service records (which sucks when it's not your car), paying a little fee, etc, all in a 30 day time period, which may seem like a long time but not really when its hard to get in contact with the previous owner to get his signature. So now I play the waiting game, and hopefully I get the warranty switched to me, they can choose whether to accept or deny the transfer claim.
