According to AMS it was the strongest stock turbo IX they had ever tested (August 2006) The seats in the Evo are incredible and there is a lot of room in the backseat. I owned both an STi and the Evo at the same time. I really prefered the Evo but the wife liked her STi so when the time came to buy an Escalade you know which car had to go
The MR has a great suspension with a very smooth and quiet ride. It also has the 6 speed which I prefer over the 5. Don't listen to some that say it is weak. This is only the case if you are going to road race it alot (on the track) in that case there are some who have had problems with 4th gear due to overheating of the tranny fluid. For normal street use it is a smooth and reliable tranny. It also revs to 7,500 rpms stock and 7,800 with a proper tune. Get a manual boost controller and it will hold full boost to almost redline
Good luck!
