Default Nissan Announcement To Fix "roaring Sound" Issue Made By Tires

fellows... got a letter from nissan today, m sure u guys got it 2. they r extending d tire warranty... yoohoo... up to 21000 miles, bcoz of feathering (ROARING SOUND) issues. gentlemen, take advantage of this. lets flock the dlerships and claim. of course there are restrictions, our cars need 2 b in stock form, at least we can have both our front tires replaced eventhough they are above 12000 miles...

damn....i wish there was a REAL fix...other than replacing tires. I'd say 50% of us have lowered our cars, changed suspensions, or gone aftermarket wheels...so this doesnt help us one bit.

Do you think I can convinve them to replace my Toyo T-1S's 245/19/35's?? Even though they are not feathering....hehe

I agree, not a fix - - but I got another alignment with the latest specs (visually can see less front and rear toe) - - plus I'm getting reimbursed for two sets of S03's - - so I can't complain

I have toyos to, does it seem like they start to feather a bit, then as time goes on it goes away again??? Just wondering if it is my imagination and the toyos really seem to be a good alternative?

There is a reimbursement form attached to the notice so if you replaced your tires, on your stock wheels, they will consider reimbursing you for the new tires.

It also states that it will cover NISMO-S Tune suspension and NISMO wheels besides the stock tires, wheels and suspension in bullet item 3.

I got that letter last week too. Doesn't help me though, my Z is lowered (not S-tune), not factory wheels (19" Volks), and different tires (Toyos) -- Nissan would laugh if I wanted anything from them

FairLady350zZ -

It says specifically 2003 Models in the letter I got (and the same one I'm assuming everyone else got with '03s) but a little complaining or asking never hurt. Hopefully it will apply to those 04's with the problem, I mean if you still have it then it wasn't totally fixed for 2004.

I am about to buy my Rims and Tires.
Should I have them look at my car before this? I am over 21000 miles.
I heard that they will pro-rate you if over 21000. Does that mean that they will cut me a check that I could then apply to my new wheels??

I took advantage of it. And Nissan gave me a new alignment per the new TSB and they are cutting me a check for the tires I had just put on prior to the release of the new TSB. Now I am watching the mailbox. Daddy needs his pay. Lol. Keep pimpin everybody. Lol.

It looks just like a suggestion card. It will have your vin on it and it will tell you what you need to do. If you want to see what it looks like I might be able to can scan it.

Went in for service yesterday. They're replacing my front tires. They have to order the tires, so I'll give me a call when the tires arrive. But they did not mention anything about checking front wheels toe in as per Nissan TSB NTB04-043. I'll make sure they do that when I bring the car in for the new tires.

If you own a 2003 car, do not wait for the letter from Nissan, call them up and mention the TSB about tire roar and have them check the front tires for uneven wear.

Got my fronts replaced and alignment for free at 9000 miles. No more road noise. Oh, they adjusted the fronts to 0 degrees.
