Amazing -- the dealer actually called ME on my cell phone and gave me my VIN. Said he was also calling every other Star Nissan pre-order personally -- so look out for the call!:

Said the car is being put/has been put on the boat as we speak and the delviery date is estimated at 9/4.

I ordered early Jan, a silverstone touring 6MT, everything but GPS.
Not sure what my R or S tracking number was (actually, not sure I ever got one...)

Also, I thought this was pretty considerate -- they said NO ONE would touch the car (except the person taking it off the truck) until I got to the dealership. At that point, he said, I tell them what I want done. They will "service" it, obviously, but detailing and what-not is up to me. And I didn't even have to ask....

 

I hope that you let us in the Chicago area have a look at it! Wow, I am jealous! Congrats and keep us updated! I don't know when mine will come. This is a good sign!

 

I too got a call this morning from the manager at Star Nissan.

I had an S tracking # & now have my VIN and an estimated delivery date of 9/5. He said that the car is in transit & is somewhere between Hawaii & California, which is great to know that the car has already been made & left the factory!

I was also impressed to hear that he's aware of the various requests by customers, so is not touching any of the cars, or letting anyone drive them. Its up to us if we want the cars washed, but a quick service is all that will be done upon delivery.
