I drove it until the last day I could, getting caught in a hard snow. It was pretty miserable having my first MT car less than 3 months and trying to drive down hilly, snowy roads home from work.
Just wash her make sure your fluids are topped off and park her.
Disconnect the battery, or get a battery tender.
IMO there is NO need to start up your car monthly.
In fact this causes water to collect in your oil pan if you just start her up and let it run for a few mins. If you do start your car up once a month. Make sure it gets to operating temp, and run the car for 30 mins at least to remove the water vapor from the oil pan.

I sugest you get a Battery Tender for the winter. You can leave it on 24/7 and not have to worry about killing the battery.

DONT just start it up and let it run what ever you do.. your just building mositure in the exhaust and back.. not good, not good at all.. if you get a chance to drive it a couple time in winter and can run it for like a half hour then do that, other wise your better off just disconeting the batt and calling it a day..
Last winter was my first with the Z and I was on the fence whether to buy a winter beater and park the Z, or buy winter wheels/tires for the Z and drive year round. I ended up choosing the latter. My conclusion was that another car means additional insurance premium and additional upkeep costs. I won't have to take my winter tires in to pass inspection and get oil changes.
This summer I put some money into the car's exterior (front lip and side skirts) so I once again did some considering of whether to sell the winter wheel setup and put the money toward a beater. After looking for some used vehicles I concluded that it would only be worthwhile to buy one that is a little more expensive so that it wouldn't leave me stranded somewhere. And again it would be one more vehicle to insure and maintain. In the end I decided that I will stick with the winter wheel/tire deal, and if the paint gets chewed up enough because of road cinders and whatnot then maybe I will consider having the front bumper and fenders repainted in the future, which would probably be equal to or less than the cost to buy and maintain a second vehicle.
So I too will be enjoying my RWD w/ traction control this winter, doing doughnuts in any parking lot that provides the opportunity : )
