Default Picked up My Z on Saturday - 07 Mini Review

Well after waiting 6 or 7 weeks for my custom order, my Z was available for pickup. I think I am still sitting around wondering WTF half the buttons do. Of course, some assclown here will more than likely tell me to read the owner's manual. (It's in Japanese. You read it.)

Anyway, the car handled great. I ran it a little hard after about 100km, but nothing past like 5000 RPM. I was initially freaked out by the weird smells, but I figured out that was just whatever parts getting their initial bake. (The car had like 3 kilometers (2 miles) when i got it.)

The only thing that kind of bugged me was how dirty the rims got from brake dust from about 100 miles of driving. Anyone notice this? This a stock thing? Perhaps a different set of pads?

Overall, the car is amazing. Truely a work of art even for those that don't like orange

Yz

I love orange, and the new orange kick major ***. Congrats on the car, looks sweet. I am in the market for a 350z a new one, since my Z4 BMW was totaled. I would get the orange one, i just don't like how the back goes with the red tail lights I can't seem to find anything that works for me =(. Oh yeah by the way there are translators online you can use to read that manual lol. (Lazy ***** :P )

Thre are translators, but good luck at typing in the text....

As for the tail lights, I went with red. One dealer option here is white, or clear with red LEDs.

I went to the Japanese nissan site and added the clear tail lights for you. If you get a Z and want these tail lights, let me know and I will try to get you a set. They are about $500. Here is a screen shot of what they basically look like.

Its Fujitsubo. It was a factory option.

Fujitsubo ftw!!! I have the same.

I never like how the solar orange looks in pictures, but in person, looks awesome.

That brake dust would be a stock "problem". When I had to get new brakes, I got Hawk Pads for a reason -- little to no brakedust. Where the stock pads would have my wheels covered in 2-3 days (of normal driving mind you), the Hawk pads have 1/3rd the brake dust as stock pads would, even two WEEKS later. One of the best mods I ever did! Stops faster too.

In the screenshot of the JDM Z w/ the different tails, the rims and door handles look gun metal. That looks sweet with the Solar Orange! They don't have different color options for these parts over in Japan, do they?

Carbotech is another place to look for low dust brake pads.

Yup! OEM brake pads are notorious for brake dust. I have hawks hp pads, cuts the dust down considerably. I like your cameras.
BTW run an ad in the wanted classifieds here for a '07 manual.
Jeff at West Covina has the JDM tails at a great price if anyone else is interested here in the states.
Good Luck!

I have not had a brake dust problem after 4000 miles.
I don't wash THAT often, so it must be the way you guys drive.

I havent had brake dust problems either. Dont ride it to hard remember break in is after 1500 miles thats why you have that smell when you drive hard.Remember 1500 miles it's in my owners manuel.

The gunmetal door handles and rims come from the factory?

I don't know about the gunmetal door handles. I don't think that is an option, but you car go here and poke around the car builder and see if they are in there. (I think it is just a flaw in the web site.)
