Yes, but that's hardly a selling feature.

The Z essentially needs nothing beyond what its already getting.

Ill be the first to say it....but even if it only makes 330hp with the 3.7L we will all still be sitting here on the Z forum continuing to make it one of the best sports car legacies ever.

Diet, suspension and gearing re-worked, a bit more power...the Z wont be coming close to power levels of the GTR for a cheaper price or else they wouldnt have even brought the GTR here.

I don't think they'll focus that much on increasing the z's overall performance that significantly with them foxusing on the gtr to compete with vettes and such. Whats pricing looking like on the gtr's anyway?

The Z having lots more power in the next generation will not hurt the GTR. You guys are forgetting that the GTR will be de-tuned from the factory, making it capable of getting hundreds of more horsepower with aftermarket upgrades. They did this, because they know people(enthusiasts, of course) that will buy the GTR will upgrade anyway.

Isn't it possible to obtain hundreds of more HP on just about any car with aftermarket upgrades? I'm not seeing your point here.

im not sure, but doesnt the Z share its platform with other various models? i thought i read that somewhere and that is why the Z is heavier. wouldnt having its own platform save some weight?

I agree the 330 on the 3.7 is likely the best we will see on HP. The big issues are weight, and suspension. If the GTR is going after the 911 turbo, the Z should step up from targeting the Boxter to the Cayman S type of performance.

More power, torque
More refined suspension
Better quality, interior and paint
Better dealer service
less oil consupmtion
Less rattles
Smoother shifting tranny and one that never grinds.
A clutch that doesn't stick to the floor
Window motors that last longer than the warranty
A parking brake that actually works would be a plus!!!!
Brembos standard on all models with no increase in MSRP (well we can dream)
Seats that don't shift and creak

One of the things they did do right was make a bad *** looking car, so if they could just fix all or MOST of the above, maybe I would buy another someday. But doubtfull.

Did I mention it looks bad ***.

I am 100% with you on this one. When I look at the prices on new C6's on the forums after being discounted, it seems hard to not spend a few more thousand bucks than a loaded 350Z & just get a factory warranty with 436hp & great handling out of the box that the Vette has.

I want more hp & have since I first bought my 350Z in 2003. The options for me seem to be go FI, spend the money, & possible risk of running FI on a stock motor (since I cannot justify spending 20K on turbo & built motor) or buy a Vette, have good power with warranty & able to mod with cam & tune (thus safe & cheap mods for little cost) if desired.

I could have bought a Vette if I waited another year or so. Probably couldn't afford the maintenance though, so Ummm that's what I get for being poor. Maybe after the Z.

I would much rather have a Vette than a FI Z if I had the money.

It would allow it to save weight, however, prices would increase. Then the same thing that happened to the Z32 would occur. They would price the car out of their intended market.

It should lose 200-300 pounds. Corvette is substantially lighter than the 350Z. If GM can do it, so can Nissan. I will take a 3.7 or a 3.8L motor too, 330-350 HP. 340 HP and 3000 pounds would make the Z a whole new animal. Currently Corvette kicks our butts, and M3 does too (albeit a HUGE rise in price for the M). The G gets the 3.7L, the Z better in '09 (do we call it a 370Z?). Keep the V8 out though -- that is for the American boys.

A supercharged or single turbo option from the factory would be awesome, but that will never happen.

I think it would be nice if the car was 2 inches wider and the overall height was 2 inches shorter.

I always liked Vettes and the C6's just look awesome. Also the warranty is 10/100K miles and with only a few thousand in bolts on you can have one hell of a beast.
