I second this. You NEVER know what really happened with a salvaged car. For your peace of mind, stick with the 05. It is slightly less quick but you will be more assured that it is still a non-salvaged car. Seriously, trust me on this, as I have driven and worked on salvaged cars. When a car has a salvaged title it means that, in a majority of cases, the car has been hit pretty bad. Occasionally you get the salvaged title where the car is stolen, and its electornics ripped out, but then that's a major problem also.

Bottom line, don't touch salvaged-titled car. True, sometimes you dont' know if a car is salvaged or not even if the title is clean. But when you do know the title is NOT clean, then stay away from it.

+1 Agreed dont by anything with a salvage title. For all you know the car fell in a canal or off a cliff. And the resale value sucks.

Salvage title ftl... And 06 is the year with oil consumption problems.
Just get the 05. LSD and TCS. I don;t care about the TCS. In my touring it's a normal reflex to turn off the VDC. But LSD is a necessity for me.

People with base models. Do you get a lot of wheel spin???

hopefully in the next week ill try to investigate the car a bit more. if it was recovered from a ditch, from falling off a mountain then FTL, but if it was something minor like theft, or replaced bumper, then FTW!

so If i get the base with out TCS, will it be a wild mustang or is just depending on my driving habits?
nd is TCS worth it?
I'd go witht he 07 base.

salvage title...= poop

if you are considering turning it into a track car and the frame and everything else is perfect then go for it. Minor accident = salvage on a brand new car? u must be stupid lol. My friend's brand new car worth 30k was in an accident requiring 13k in repairs and the insurance company still went ahead. That car must have just been destroyed lol and your paying 5k less than new? Sigh just be a clean titled car cause even if you try and sell it later, 1 out of 10000000 buyers will buy from you and plus if he does offer it will most likely be low ballin to the floor. gluck

I have Base - They don't spin tires too much. However, I don't use my car on the track. On the track even the stock VLSD works well for the drag strip. But, most like to go after market LSD for road race. My Open diff works great around mountain turns unless I'm really hammering it. I do plan on getting a Cusco LSD and better sways along with wider tires soon. Most likely this Fall / Winter and I'll be set for next spring but, only because I know it just makes the car work better in the mountains. This car rarely needs it imo except in really fast and tight turns to help you get going. It's actually safer with a open in that situation. But, the LSD will get you out of the turn quicker in that situation.

Banks will not finance a salvaged car with a rebuilt title. You have to buy it straight out cash down and plus when you ask the insurance companies to run your VIN and insure the vehicle most places will give you the thumbs down.

well....

i like the 07 hood...love the led taillights...but its superficial...and the 05 can be outfitted with those luxuries.

i love to have tcs. sure ive driven lots of cars...without tcs...but in the rain...i love to drive fast with a lil peace of mind that my car is working for me to keep me on the ground and keep me safe...im a good driver..and not a jackass...

and whats cool...when it does rain...in an open parking lot...u can turn tcs off...and have a alot of fun with your car...spin out...do 360's...and not burn a shred of rubber...i love it.

but warranty on the 07 is a good argument...but when i purchased my 05...i bought an 80,000mi extended warranty..so whatever...and i have ordered some altezza led lights anyways...so it will be tricked out for next summer...

mine is sleepin for the winter months..

happy shoppoin....either way...ur getting a bullet car that eats modern day V8 muscle cars for breakfast....tried tested and true...

**** ono all u mustang and camaro owners...check ur mirror for the z...then look forward to breathing in fumes...hahahahahhaahah....muahahahahahah....mumumumhahaahah ahahhaha

Smile i dont think you should buy o7

it has been involve in accident. you shouldnt buy any svgt car.
before i got 350z. i had honda prelude. to be honest with you, honda car is more reliable than nissan. it wasnt really svgt. but i could tell it had frame demage. i didnt really care but car's with svgt, it might bring you bad luck cuz even though i was trying to drive careful with my lude it still have me so much problem. I have 03 touring model, traction controll really help me when it's raining. power you can increase it anytime. you can make your z 4.5 liter or make them 1000 hp. but i think safety is first.

Dude, they wouldn't put a salvage title on it for minor damage. I would pass if I were you.
