Default 2007 base vs. 2005 enth.

hello all. I am looking into buying my first Z in the next couple of weeks.
I found a 2007 base for around 22k$. nd a 2005 enth for 20k$ , the only thing concerning me is the traction control..how important is it?? I had an 07civic si, nd it had stability control nd found it usefull in some situations,

so If i get the base with out TCS, will it be a wild mustang or is just depending on my driving habits?
nd is TCS worth it?

in LA you dont need the TCS. Get the 07 and you won't regret. It has the new HR that almost everyone loves.

is hte 07 you found used? that's a good price.

i think you wont need tcs cuz base doesnt come with lsd. id go with 07 enthu. and you wont regret it. 05 is waste of money dude. we all drove with out tcs or other traction control before.

If you drive it daily, I highly recommend TCS.

i'd say go with the 07. Reason being, is that it will still be under warranty and it's newer. For 2k more that's worth it. If your budget is somewhat strict, then go with the 05. Either way, you have two of the years that seem to be the most reliable.

As for the tcs, I have driven with my tcs on and off. Whether you will need it or not depends on your driving conditions and how you drive yourself.

For that price I would assume it's a used 07. and if it is make sure to find out why the person is selling it so soon and taking a near $5k hit in depreciation. Other than that 07 FTW Has hr engine, newer front bumper, hood, led tail lights, interior? and possibly even the color depending on you. GL

yea its that low cus it was in a minor accident. everything is good now. everything works. <1k miles. nd since its SLVG title. its resale value is no good not to mention its base.
the 05 has 30k miles.
nd I also scoped out an 06 with 20kmiles 4 21k$, it says its enth. model but in the pics it doesnt have the steering wheel controls.(so error in the description?)

get the 07. the HR rocks and ignore the "hood haters".

the car is pretty stable, i usually turn the TCS off anyways, just don't drive like a jackass.

important question though, what tranny is in them? if one if stick and the other isn't, get the 6spd.

if you mentioned it and i looked over that fact, ignore me, i've had quite a few beers.

get the 07 for sure then.

i found that the Z is deceptively fast. i swear, for a car as small and low to the ground, there is almost no sense of speed. i will take off from a light and the next thing i know, i am going 80mph and have to back off. seriously, i kind of wish the Z had that brutal speed feel to it.

quick story - i tailed one of the pilots in my unit and he has a Rouch Mustang, i think it's an 06 or so. anyways, he was in front of me at a red light. he took off and i was on his butt the whole time. when we got to the parking lot at work he was shocked. i dunno what that has to do with anything, but i can bet that in the Stang, that level of acceleration was pushing him into his seat, while the Z seemed to just do it.

anyways...............i should go to bed.........

oh and get the 07 (again)

hmm interesting... all is pointing to the 07, but my budget was 22k nd under, ill try to negotiate the OTD to 22k. but before id like to hear more feedbak..if the TCS it worth it...or is it unstable as a base model.. by unstable I mean U make a 90degree turn at about 45mph nd it will skid nd hit the sidewalk or something...

How many years have people been driving cars without traction control? Its a wonder they survived.

very true. just trying to have a safe veichle. so if TCS is not a big issue, hmmm nd LSD now that i look at it..

so heres the difference
22k$SLVG title. 07 base. but with them nice wheels, nd newer engine. 500miles
21k$ 06 base. nice wheels too,(i wont be buying aftermarket wheels)20k miles
19$ 05 enth. LSD nd TCS... 30k miles

the 07 is a bit obvious..but when u add the LSD nd TCS, thats when I start to think about it.

$19k for an 05 enth. ?? Damn I wish I could find one in that price range around here. I'm seeing 03/04 models going for about 20-21k

You indicate the 07 is a salvage title. End of discussion. I would not buy anything with a salvage title.

Get the 05....assuming a good mechanic you pay & trust says car is sound.
Also run a Carfax.

Get the 07.
Check carfax, get the police report for the accident, and make sure everything is good. Also have a mechanic check it out. I have a 05 with a salvage title but only the driver door was replaced I've had it for over a year and it drives perfectly and nothing else was wrong. Good luck and do your research prior to buying.

OOO Salvage Title .... Don't pay more than $18K for it. Someone will but, it's not worth that.
