Default Removing Spare tire for more cargo

Hello all,

I am thinking about removing the spare tire for the weekend, so that I can fit a bicycle in the back of my Z.

I do not dare put a bike rack on it.

I was thinking about getting a liquid patch can, or other propellant based repair kit.

At worst case I will never be more than 30 miles from a repair facility, and will have a cell phone.

Have any of you tried this or do you have thoughts?

The trip will be 250 miles, each way, all Interstate roads.

I understand many cars do not come with spare tires these days, only repair kits.

Eric

i will be permanently removing my spare soon for my custom sub-box. (need the room for 2 12s )

i have 24hr roadside assistance through my insurance (never used it so i dont know what will happen when the time comes)

i have heard the repair kit will mess up tire pressure sensors if you have them, but not sure if this has been confirmed

I'll bet those tire repair guys hate it when they go to take a tire off the rim and have all that nasty latex sealant going all over the place.

yes, it sucks really bad. When I was in high school in auto tech we asked people if they had put it in before we did any work on their tires.
