i actually sat inside one for a test drive when they first came out. super low, sorta / borderline cramped. i'm 5-10 and felt claustrophobic. getting in and out was a problem, looked rather silly. the build is purely track inspired, i would imagine it'd be a very tough daily driver. stiff suspension, not harsh, but much stiffer than a stock Z. handles for days though.

i'd get it for a track only car, can't really see myself justifying it as a daily driver.

i've seen quite a few daily drivers in the SF bay areas. They sound really bad a$$ on the road. i'd get one eventually. i like those suckers.

I'd do it, my buddy has an exige, its a bad *** car, the only thing that pisses him off is the lack of aftermarket ****. he had like 2 choices for exhaust, **** like that, and they aren't the fastest top end he takes me through the corners but it don't take me long to run him in the straights.

To me the lack of amenities (weight) and noise are pluses.

+1 i'm not planning for it to be a daily driver. It's either boosted Z or a lotus and a beater honda.

This car's purpose is solely performance, it is balanced perfectly, you dont need a lot of power to go fast around the track. That is a true driver's car. Thats the reason why Im leaving power mods for my Z last, if I do any.

Look at it this way, theres people out there that will pass your Z on the track driving a stock miata, it really isnt about power.

Also keep in mind that you would have to learn how to drive mid engine, which in my opinion is SO MUCH more challenging and rewarding. The Z is an AWSOME car, but the lotus is on a totally different level.
Good Luck.
Newb -- you obviously don't know what you're talking about. The Z can compete with the Elise, and even an Exige in autox or the track. I know . . . I regularly ran faster times than an Exige in our local autox events. Heck, I ran faster times than an occassional Z06. As far as overall comfort, I'll have to agree that the Lotus is on a totally different (lower) level than a Z.

Good choice! Just took a look at a silver one this weekend. I like stealthness of a silver car. All my sports cars have ended up being silver, grey or black.
I'd jump on it with my GM discount but, the wife said the next car we she wants to be able to drive it like she can drive the 350Z. Fit her perfectly. She looks hot in it too. She's 5' and 98lbs. So, it looks like a Vette was veto'd this weekend forever. Oh well, I still have my Firebird and maybe it's a new GTR for me in a couple of years. Not a bad way to spend $60K .... or at least I hope so.

You tard. A 1/4 mile time of 12.6 and a 0-60 of 4.9 seconds isn't slow as hell. Plus the Exige only adds downforce. The Exige S has 30 more hp, but in no way is the Elise "slow as hell".

This video was taken from a Lotus Exige. Go to 3:15 and see another Exige and a 350Z pass this Exige.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...20727097&hl=en

I think the Exige has potential for faster lap times, if driven right, but it comes down to the driver.

Hey newb, you just bought a Z, registered in this forum this month, and have a total of what, 6 posts?! If you like the Lotus, why didn't you buy one? Looks to me like you either couldn't afford one or better yet, having second thoughts on the Z. Get rid of the Z and we'll have one less ignorant newb in this forum.
