I just bought my Z on Sat and yesterday when I went to take it for a spin after work, i was messing with the gears while the car was at a stop and with the clutch fully in, when I went to put the gear into third (bad habit of mine) the gear grinded, but when i did it slower it didn't grind, i took it out and if i rev the engine to 3k it didn't grind but if i shift 2nd at 2k and put it into 3rd it'll grind but only did that for a while then it stopped should i take it into the dealer to get a new tranny or do you think that it'll be ok? thanks

 

How frequent is the grind? Many members here have had 3rd gear grind problem.
Take it into the dealer and see what they can do.

 

So far it only grinds when its still kinda cold, and not very often, i drove her today and it didnt' grind, ill prolby head to the dealers this weekend since its a 03 and has 51k miles on it.

 

yeah, take it to the dealer, my 2nd grinds, when the car is cold, after it has run for 10-15 min. it shifts perfectly, so, either take it to the dealer right now, or drive it lil bit, till you get used to it, it might be just a matter of shifting habits.

 

Still in powertrain warrenty , bring it to the dealer.
