How much HP from an ECU
Ho wmuch horsepower do you think an ecu will give the Z? Is there anything known about it?
My goal is to reach aobut 300-320 horsepower. So you good feel a noticable difference.

Nothing is known about a new Z ECU. N/A cars will get 5 to 20hp from and ECU depending on how tame it is from the factory. However, it does sound like Nissan left some room to improve the Z intentionally.

Reliable sources from Japan (according to Jay & others) stated that the 350Z test car had 300 HP. I bet it was with a similar intake/exhaust set up as our production car.
13 HP for ~$600 sounds just about right for an ECU upgrade assuming Nissan left enough room for it. I'm sure they took this into account knowing that they are bringing NISMO to North America and how much money is to be made in the aftermarket.
I'm betting 300 HP with panel filter/ECU only. Essentially a production tune from the factory!

Why waste your money on a chip? Fact is that almost all chips for N/A cars just lean out the mixture. Your best bet would be to get a unit that enables you to adjust the A/F mixture, and then tune it on the dyno to a stoicmetric A/F level.
