Default Z Got Vandalized

I just got a call from my roommate asking what happened to my Z last night. (I take the vanpool to work.) I guess some dick **** spray painted my hood. I stayed at this girl's house last night and parked on the street but it was a pretty nice neighborhood so I wasn't concerned. I am so ****ing pissed. This girl recently broke up with her boyfriend so I'm thinking it might have been him, or it could have been some kid hating, or maybe some other girl I was seeing. Not knowing is really bothering me.

Another ****ed up thing is that I drove the car home this morning and didn't even see it.

UPDATE:
Here's a pic of the vandalism.

UPDATE 2:

I used some stuff called "Very Slow Reducer" and the spray paint cleaned right up. It was simple.

Reducer

Here are the results (Sorry. Just quick cell phone shots.)

my feelings reach out for you and your car man. I just saved my baby from the same crime, I also taught the little Fockers a lesson.

Some people have a lack of courage. If they were worth the dirt they walk on, they should've come to you personally. The inability to control the destruction of your car is inexcusable.

If you have a good coat of wax you may be lucky by either clay or paint cleaner give that a shot and hopefully that may help.

Thanks man. My dad owns an auto parts store. He said he's going to bring some stuff by that might help. I'm probably going to have to dip into my TT fund and just have it painted. It's probably not going to match, either.

You should be able to remove it without painting however that depends on how well you maintain your car and how long the paint has been on. My Z has so many layers of wax that I feel confident if that happened to my car it would come off. My ex got a sharpie marker and wrote some crap right on my door and it was one of those fat markers. Those Sharpie markers are permanent but I was lucky that a little clay and wax took it right off.

Try the 3m remover. It worked for me.

I would have tried a medium grade clay bar first but seemingly that is not working. You may want to try wiping down the area with a mix of rubbing alcohol and water (50/50) or mineral spirits. The mineral spirits are a little stronger and can typically be found at any hardware store. Pour a little bit on paint safe towel or applicator pad and wipe the affected areas. After you're done thoroughly wash those area and apply a fresh coat of protection. 3M Adhesive Remover also works well in the same way.

If those methods don't work I would try using a polish on the paint. Polishing those areas with a medium or light polish should remove the paint specks. This should only remove a minute level of clear coat that would have little to no effect on your clear coat. If you're using a high speed rotary buffer and an aggressive compound then you may be able to remove a noticeable amount of clear coat.

I hope this information gives you some other ideas to try and points you in the right direction. Good luck and let us know what you try and how it goes.

If you can't remove the paint, there are a lot of used hoods being sold by members in the classifieds section. It'll be cheaper to replace the hood than repainting it (provided you're able to locate the same color hood). Or, buy a CF hood.
