Longest stretch you've driven your Z?
What is the furthest you've gone with the Z in one stretch?
Anyone over 1k miles for a roadtrip or something?
I'm planning on doing a long roadtrip to visit my gf. I'm in FL and she in TX. Is it crazy to drive my brand new spanking Z to see her? Should I fly instead? Will a car bra help? I'm just afraid of rock chips during the 13 hour ride.

NC to CA. Long ride, great memories, horrible gas mileage.
*edit, yeah, a car bra would help greatly. Those semi trucks at night go excess of 100 MPH. I dodged things from car bumpers to huge truck tires on the road as well. So if you have some type of bodykit, i would slap on the stock bumpers.

I do 1400 mile rountrips at least once a month. Get a bra ASAP! Im gonna have mine touched up and then complete 3M package. Tired of chips. Trip shouldnt be that bad. Not much room for luggage. Cruise wont hold above 90 moh though. So your foot will get tired. Holding 110-120 for 2 hours I averaged 20 MPG . 4 hours at 85-95 gives you about 25 mpg. I love open texas highways and my passport.
When I drove with my mother in the car I got 29 mpg averaging 65-75 mph over 6 hour trip.So its pretty decent if you feather it.

why are you goign so fast? going 110-120 for long periods of time isn't too good for your engine. You are at a pretty high RPM.

980 miles - Wisconsin to Kansas City, KS and back....(first trip was at 1400 miles just after break-in)
27 mpg......no cruise control..... was a very pleasurable trip, very comfortable
....I normally make that trip with my 95 Altima....and I find myself frequently mentioning "MAN!.....My @$$ hurts!" when driving that car on long trips...
but the Z.....no fatigue, no discomfort....it rocks!

Lots of ground to cover. Straight open desolate highways are boring. About rpms......meh. Run full synthetic change every 3k. I have taken the same route/speeds in my different bimmers for 15+ years. My oldest bimmer (87 325is) has 250k now on stock bottom end and has done this route/speeds at least 20 times. (got that car at 40k) .If the Z cant hang then its the last nissan I ever buy. Its held up well.

i've driven mine 500 miles at a time. rocks, shredded tires, and pieces of wood on the interstate discourage me from driving my Z for long distances. i'd rent a car...also, you need to take into account tire wear. the way i see it, my tires will prolly be good for 16000 miles. if i take a 1000 mile trip, there goes 1/16 of the tires in just one day. if tires cost 1000 dollars, you've used up 62.5 dollars worth of tires in just one trip. to me it makes more sense to spend 50 dollars for a two day rental and wear out the rental car instead.
it may sound retarded, but it's the logic i am using.

drove almost all the way across Albuquerque.....I got scared when I crossed Carlisle so I turned back approx 28 miles
Then again I have have been 2 times to Phoenix approx 600 miles, gas milage sucked but I found the max on the speedo for more that 50 miles. My Z is limited to 153 MPH, damn Japaneese Nissan engineers

A few 525mi one way / 1050mi round trips. The first couple of times my thighs would tingle after 2-3 hundred miles and I had to get out and stretch. But, after 10K miles or so the seat got broken in and formed to my body. Now, it's like a glove and no discomfort at all on 750mile trips in a single day. On those trips I get out at my 525mi destination stopping point stretch and get gas. I take on 18.5 gals at that point. Right at 28mpg. I do not have cruise control.

Probably 50 miles up to the North Shore and back with an 1hour rest on the beach.
haha. I couldn't imagine driving for more than that with the Z. It would get pretty scary on long stretches in the mainland (America).
